Vinyl Wrap vs Paint Job

ok..........So, lets hear your opinion, yes you CSS.net about

Vinyl Wrapping

VS

A New Paint Job

Lets say for example, I wanted to go....mmmmmm SUMMIT WHITE!!!

Could a vinyl wrap job EVER be as good as a professional paint job???

If I were to put a real summit white SS/TC next to a SS/TC that was wrapped in summit white, from the outside could you tell that it was different?

Would it not look as nice? Would the quality be not as good as paint..........

and how long will it last?

I ask this because it has been brought to my attention that a vinyl wrap job could be done in place of a paint job for cheaper......

NOW.......call me old fashioned but I would sleep easier at night with a good old Summit White paint job............

But..........im not counting a wrap job out yet

LETS HEAR YOURS

wrap would last about 7 years. but if you get a rock chip your gonna have to replace that whole panel.

it really depends on budget. if you can swing a paint job then get that done

Wraps cost upwards of 2000 bucks. If you want a quality job anyway. At that point it's better to spend the extra for a real paint job.

You sir are lucky. I worked next to a auto wrapping shop and thought about this for years. I wanted to do flat black but could never swing the 2 gs.

I attempted to get to get my car wrapped a couple years ago, I called all around DFW to places that apply complete vinyl wraps and the best price I got was 3200. Only reason to get a wrap is to keep the factory color without ruining it.

Yeah the guy was normally 3gs. But he was willing to take of the grand. He said he could get me materials for 1500. But I didn't want to learn on my car.

Ya exactly, the only reason to me to do it is so in 10-20 years lets say you still have the vinyl wrap it can be removed with the factory paint still bein there. Pretty much any paint job is gonna bring down the value of a car cus it doesnt have factory paint anymore.

And a vinyl wrapped car sittin next to a quality 3 stage paint job the paint job willl look a whole hell of a lot better in shine and feel. And if u do get a paint job make sure you find a good place thatll do the door jambs, under trunk and under hood, they probly wnt do the engine bay tho lol unless u want to pay alot.

I wud get a vinyl wrap jus so you have the factory paint in the future still unless u get a legit spray
