Wire Tuck (with pics)
Time for a big update today, and expect another big update sometime next week. so the car is off the jacks and is sitting on its own 4 tires. the list of things that needs to get done is slowly getting smaller.
this is how she sits as of this morning

this piece here is what the oem harness passes through the fire wall in. i have closed it up and painted it and it will fill the large hole left by the harness,

The new brake lines are finished, coated, and installed; they came out nicer than I thought. also incase nobody noticed i switched to a braded stainless steel clutch line for the ky clutch

Here I started tinkering with the fuel components, previously I had the regulator by the fuel tank but I decided it was better mounted in the bay. I have hard line running to the regulator and I ordered a few fittings 45* AN fittings from summit racing to finish the connection to the fuel bulkhead. Also I drilled and taped the nipple on the intake manifold and installed a 4 an fitting then ran hard line directly to the fuel pressure regulators vacuum port. I still have to put in the fuel pressure sensor and finish the feed and return lines but I'm getting there.

most of the wiring is done, I'm in the process of patching in the headlight harness then I have to finish the electrical grounds, patch in the AEM F/IC 8 and then test electrical connections

The horn has been relocated to the passenger side and the windshield washer reservoir will be in the trunk.

I went to the junk yard and poached another hood release cable off a dead cobalt i will be patching this into the existing line to finish up the cable

It will be fine I did a test before I even started this project with 20 ft of hose and it ran without any problems. It will actually be a foot higher than the OEM mounting position so there won't be as much force required to pump the fluid up-hill so to speak. I did install a fluid check valve where it connects to the nozzles to prevent any back flow so it should work like normal
So I got a little lazy and decided not to lable the writes for the headlight harness which I'm kicking my self for now as I "lost a wire" got to the point that I had connected all the extended wires and had one left over at the fusebox that I don't have a connection for, so last night was spent tearing the fuse box apart to map out all the wiring for the headlight harness. The wire ended up being for parking light signal and I'm not sure where the other end of it is so I'm hoping to have to tear apart the headlight harness again and remap all the wires this time, and that boys and girls is why you lable every wire
luckaly the wiring schematic for the headlight and parking lights is in the repair manual. So I should get that figured out today
yeah I got it, what had happened is there was a ground on the headlight harness that connects directly to the fuse box which is used as the ground for the coils of a few relays. it got cut off at the mounting point which should have designated a ground and I ended up connecting that to the missing wire by accident which left the passenger parking light wire free at the fuse box. everything is labeled now and as soon as I put the headlight harness together I will connect the harness for the AEM F/IC8 and the electrical will be DONE!!!!

Well I filled and bled the brake system today and tested for leaks, and let me tell you there is a very noticeable difference to the feel of the clutch petal with the braded clutch line. I cannot wait to get the car running
so here is the new coolant tank

only 6 wires away from finishing the engine bay electrical

but then i have to put this back together

oh and just for show this is where the AEM F/IC8 lives, I cut a bit of the dash out just above the glove box and made a mounting bracket so it mounts out of sight, right now its down and disconected till i finish the electrical connections
