while i know what you're saying, and i agree with you. i never liked "rule of thumb"s. way too many factors. especially in drag racing. there is no actual way to measure that. too many variables.
its definately a v...... i seen the badge.... it is a definate v8, and i believe it was a older car.... however this car was in mint condition.... i believe it has a lowering job, with no tint.... this car is bad a$$.... i would love to own it..... needless to say i think i surprised him, i know he was watching.... i cant wait til we bump into each other again.... i see him about 2 or 3 times a month.....
Perhaps once you can do consistant, full traction runs you will be able to see it.
have some patience i will meet this guy again.... when i do i will show you..... believe me when i say this thing is bad a$$... know it to be true when i said i was bumper to bumper with him.... i dont bullshit about that stuff..... and dont be so surprised that i had a good race with a car considered to be a superior car.... its not like its the first time that has happened before.....
lol the 3.8L v6 aren't slow cars. and like any other gm V style motor, there are parts out there to make it go faster and sound mean. just having a little fun with you thats all!
exhaust on the sides..... not centered... this car had a stance like the one you pictured.... however i know it did not have the wheels like the one mark pictured.... i am thinking it was probally the one mark pictured with a crap load of aftermarket on it.... the exhaust looked like magnaflow, it is on a suspension and wheels.... however it has a sleeper look.... with no tint look i can sit here and guess all day long it is obviously not stock...... dude and to tell you the truth i was focusing more on not hitting him as i am in wot... then being able to tell you exactly what his car is.... i am telling you thats how close we are...... if traffic worked to our advantage i would have been able to tell you better but it got in our way so i was never able to get beside him.... i reconize this guy everytime we get around each other because on how much he looks like jonathan.....
everything he has done to his car was subtle and mean..... i doubt this car was a 6 dude.... i am possitive it had a 8.... it sounded like a ws6 with exhaust and if it was a 6 then he has more then a air intake on it.... i dont know, i should know, i have seen him so many times.... this was the first time we went for it tho.... so next time i will remember.... i can tell you he is a maiden fan..... lol
sorry for stepping on your toes here;
this is a rather ignorant post.
in many areas of the states people run what we'd call a dedicated summer year round... try driving in an inch of slush with tires that are only engineered for dry conditions...
also, not many areas have a crown in the road to promote rain (ect) to run off...
now with your dedicated summers, and an inch of slush roll through a puddle...
I know but when we get snow, you slow down. It doesn't seem that case in the states. I dunno what it is, but a 50 car pile up should not happen with half an inch of snow....
I guess that like you said, a bump could throw you out. I guess the lesson is just slow down and you be better off

black ice and slush are a bad combo.... the roads were probally wet and then froze as the slush built up... dude even winter tires wouldnt even have had traction..... i never try to come to a conclusion about a accident unless i was there to witness it.... your right we are more acustom to driving in slippery conditions...... however if you dont think it gets snowy and icy in the states, your wrong...... the 49th parallel is not the border between snow and summer....
