It was tough convince either of my bothers to come out to race city, I can with confidence say that I probably will not be able to drag him to castrol.

Do you still have Eddie's shifter?

This was pretty basic and easy to do - I stripped it down, had the shank turned to accept the thread size I wanted;
I picked a common aftermarket thread size/pitch, and found a Hurst knob for the right price...

I still think all our aftermarket shifters are overpriced, add to that that they all (appear to at least) change the geometry, and it's no wonder that commonly complain about poor shift feel...
I think the Hurst/B&M shifter looks the best, but all the negative reviews speak for themself - even Jon dumped his...
If the Husrt STS didn't have so many negative reviews I would have bought one ages ago.

They both don't have these stupid granny's which freak out when you're tires start spinning - they do have traction controll, but those are easily overpowered - unlike the SS/TC ESC/Traction controll - which is more of a PITA ~ and inarguably does a better job of what it's supposed to do...

The Caliber, especially my brothers, will just lite 'em up - mine though, will earnestly try to stop the tires from spinning ~ sometimes it pulls enough timing that the car almost wants to bog.

But I have an eventual solution... more power
Jonathan as I said before and Mark also pointed out I have an aggressive tune on my car no ramp cause that's what I wanted if the day come I tune your car I will do a ramp the way you want and I think I can get you exactly what you want from the car. Also I can change how hard the traction control cuts in so that can be changed to your likings as well.

I'm sorry mark but I do not agree your car is lighter. You have that wrap and an bigger stereo in your car. That being said the race I'd like to see is Aaron vs Jonathan because they currently have basically the same setup and he 100% will go to Castrol

Can I please be in the race for a free supper talks too?

Mark has had me over several times, that BBQ last summer was the most recent - I haven't had the opportunity to reciprocate, which is why I figure I owe him.
If you wanna race for supper, then I say the winner buys, because the only was I'd beat you is if you have never run at the track, and just spin your tires, and miss a shift or three.

Even I'm not that great at the track (it really togher than most realize), I continually roasting my tires at the track - if I figured out how to do a proper run, I might have another 3/10ths;
My best at Castrol was a traction impared 13.9

Found one thing in my truck that I really don't like.

I can't disable the ESC in 2wd. So I can get the rear end out there, but then the ESC kicks in and it comes right back.

I have done some drifting in 4wd but it's sketchy.

I think there's a tuner that'll let me disable the ESC in 2wd.

the wrap dont weigh much, and my stereo is the same weight. as stock. it was a even trade off. i think arron's car is faster then jonathans and by you say they are equal kevin is saying trifecta and hpt are equal. it is also like saying 94 and 91 octane are equal. arron also has a IC if i recall. whatever tho i am sure when jonathan and i run next i will be on meth and it will be equal. for your info i weigh exactly 3028lbs full of fuel and 2 200lbs people inside. i know for a fact not one of you can say that. my orange car weighed just over 3300lbs with the same fuel load and 2 200lbs people inside. when i do runs i usually am alone and run no more then a half tank and i try to only run a quarter tank.

i challenge faster cars for one reason. i have a great big set of *****. i dont run away from challenges or the off chance i might loose. if i loose i loose who really gives a crap. according to every turbo owner i shouldnt even be apart of the conversation. the fact that not only am i part of the conversation but most turbo owners are scared to run me due to the off chance they might loose speaks volumes. think about it for a second kevin. look how bored you are with racing your car. no one is even in your time zone. yet here i am in the thick of it running edwards bag off. i will beat modded turbos before i am done. when i do i wont gloat and make them feel small. like has happened to me in the past. i will simply smile and wave dude. why? i see no point in celebrating coz loosing to a m62 is punishment enough. we all know when i hit my goal with the m62 that most turbo owners wont run me around here. they have way too much pride in believing they have a superior car.

i do have a open challenge to any m62 owner in these neck of the woods. as long as you run pump gas and not e i would love to run you if you believe you can take me. lets run. keeps looking but no one is in the line up.

i down for BBQ always. just name a time and place.

jon used what he needed from eddies shifter when he installed his twm. i was suppose to get his b+m but it was pooched. so i said whatever. unfortunately the knob got messed up too so i wasnt really able to replace my current one with it. thus he as kevin says wants to give me his knob. make sure you put some shifter bushings in jonathan it will make it feel way better.

as a final statement of my car. i dont know why people always talk about it but they do. i been slammed by so many and praised by many more. it isnt the fastest but yet people consider it a benchmark of what fast is. i dont get it and i dont get why. it is only a car.

ALSO, last night the wife and i went a seen a movie i have to recommend to all of you. it was maybe the best movie i have ever seen so you all have to go check it out. do yourselves a favour go watch The Kingsmen. absolutely a great show.

The Kingsmen is definitely a good movie!

As for traction control on an LNF, the second you get in the car you gotta hold ESC down for like 8 seconds and get rid of that pesky traction control completely

My truck doesn't let me disable ESC in 2WD completely either, BUT if I put it into 4WD and then disable it, and then put it back into 2WD it is 100% disabled

Yea Mark you're right the last time Aaron was in town I didn't even bother bringing my car out and you guys all had good runs.

I don't understand where you lightened the car by that much tho that is my point. Are the after market upgrades for the LSJ that much lighter than stock? If you did something else to the car please share I'd like to do it too to my car if possible

maybe I'll go weigh my car for kicks this weekend.

I can't help but think that my car should weigh nearly what Mark's car does - it would be lighter if I had ordered it (as much as I live the sunroof I would have ordered it without one).

And Mark, I think you just took the longest post award from me

lol maybe they are, i dont know but weighed my car on the county scales. if there is 1 scale i put money on being right is the scale the police and sherrif's use. after all they write the tickets. so i used strathmore's county scale.

first off the vinyl has weight but it doesnt weigh that much.

second my after market stereo may actually weigh less then the factory stuff. i used extremely light weight material. yet it pounds better then stock and even looks great.

i wouldnt doubt of every after market part for the lsj is lighter then stock. even something as simple as my adjustable tensenor was lighter then the stock one. the exhaust was very noticed.

light weight 17's will be lighter then tc 18's and god know by far lighter then sc 18's

lack of any ac parts adds up. whats left of my compressor weighs next to nothing. the compressor was very heavy.

carbon fiber trunk that everyone forgets about has huge savings. even over a wingless stock trunk.

lack of any factory trunk provisions adds up

being this car has seen such a hard life, it has lost alot of factory plastics and needless parts. i never replaced them with my other stuff nor do i see the need too.

i am sure there is more but i forget what all has been done i think it just all adds up, coz everything i did i considered its weight. yet i wanted a fully functional car. next part i will do one day will be the hood, massive savings to be had there.

I'm not forgetting that but I know nothing about your wheels and they could be 25lbs as far as I know or super light 16lbs I don't even know who makes them

I forgot that Aaron had the intercooler cause I haven't tuned him for it and he is paying me for it this month

I got a good laugh out of that scene too!

When I weighed my car at the track it was 2950 lbs with about a half tank of gas, with not much else in it besides my helmet, computer, and camera.
