Calgary - random talk thread
Since we're all friends here - Please allow me to have some fun...
I looked up a thread that I remembered reading some time ago where the OP was looking for replacement pads, but whined about the cost of OEM Brembo (manufactured by Ferrodos) pads;
This one is apt considering who you are - and all you've done to your car;

... and just because of his reputation;
.. FYI (and for chuckles);

I regretted downgrading to the GM "performance" level parts almost immediately...
But they are pretty costly, and with the Canadian "peso" floating where it is, I totally understand saving a couple bucks... I found a smoking deal on amazon ~ I did have to pick them up at the border, but in all, I save a huge chunk of change...
This time a round, I did take a couple extra minutes and paint all the top hats of the rotors... hopefully the paint holds.

depends on what you consider upgrading. Do you want something that dusts less but will not perform as well. Usually pads that perform well dust a lot, at least from my experience. I ran HPS pads after my stock ones, and they didn't dust much at all, but they were a very noticeable step down in performance. The stock pads are some of the best performing out there for this car.
the ferrodos are a street/track pad and not a full on track pad. and in all honesty i think anything else inside them brembos is complete crap. weather you use it or not. if your going to switch them out you might as well swap out to lsj brakes imho and get some coin for brakes you wnt use. just my 2 cents.

brembo's are a 1000's better once you hit them hard once in a corner. Cold wet they are terrible, dry not too bad.
lsj brakes were good all around but faded easily after a couple hard stomps.
Saying lsj brakes are better is like saying hookers are better.. Sure in some cases, but overall not even close.

I've driven through "tornado alley" before, seeing a funnel cloud in the distance, is pretty freaky...
Hell I live in ND which is nowhere near tornado alley and I've seen at least 5-10 tornados in my life. Some small and harmless, and some larger ones off in the distance. It is pretty creepy though since its such a helpless feeling. The small funnel clouds that don't touch the ground are interesting to watch though, but still creepy.
maybe locals have a different line in the sand when it comes to gauging the severity, or official title of what is or isn't a tornado;
I've seen tons of funnel clouds, but it is something all together different being IN tornado alley, with all the power poles designed to rock back and forth, and seeing a WHOPPER of a funnel cloud off in the distance...
It's hard to explain without actually being there...

No I get what you mean. I was just saying if I've seen that many here, they must see a hell of a lot more there. When it happens here everyone takes precautions not to be too close and its on the news and all. When it happens there its probably just another average day of the week haha, unless they get a really big one!
yup, we're probably saying the same thing;
she probably only had "seen two" tornados, that came onto her property, and caused her the inconvenience of running to the basement to cower for her life...

here, I can joke around with many people at once ~ and even occasionally someone that I didn't know was watching...
IIRC you first showed up here, and it was through this thread that you met the locals that you text...
to me texting is more serious, an purely one-on-one...
