Calgary - random talk thread
all in time...
I still haven't started taking my original engine apart...
I kinda need to do this all in phases, and the next phase is to get the GA running with an engine that doesn't sound like a time bomb...
- Surprisingly after sitting for several months, it started right up, and drove around back like nothing was wrong... aside from the knock-knock-knock that I can only presume is from a spun rod bearing.
Once the GA is back together, then I can tackle the next Cobalt engine, or resume work on the Firebird... which ever suits me at the time.

i have a spare running quad4 in my garage...
that's far from the eventual planned built engine, but it will do.
I do need to swap the top end just to make it 100% work with my GA (it's from a '95 Sunfire GT).

A number of years ago, the local Cobalt scene was pretty big;
Our local group was inspiration for what became Edmonton Delta Tuners...
Alas, there's too much money in this city, so most of the older group of Cobalt owners have moved on to newer cars...
I had the opportunity of being a part of the group before it fizzled out... there were a couple good meets we had
Side note;
One member of EDT posted yesterday that he got his K04R...

in the past, there were two or three people (depending on how far back you go) who kept bringing drama into the group...
but that fact aside, there just aren't enough owners locally who seem to really be enthusiasts... that's what any group needs, enthusiasts.

I remember back when I had my first Balt. The first meet I went to we had over 20 cobalts at Barlow then slowly over a few years the size of meets got smaller and smaller then the drama divided most of what was left of the Calgary scene.
Our current drama is the stupidest thing I've ever seen! It would be nice to have it over and all of us back together but there's nothing I can do about it
/\ /\ current drama?
since there's no current active group*, there cannot be any drama...
* = Jon, you, and myself don't qualify us as a group :b
I'm fine with it being the way it is, mylife is pretty busy right now with my workday commute, and the goober.
