Yup! A custom tune will help a lot. It gave me better gas mileage AND helped with the performance of the car.

And before the critics chime in.....it is between 35mpg and 40mpg......but that is still DAMN impressive for highway driving at 120km/h.

 

lol see i wouldn't be able to hold myself at 120km/h i'm more like 140-160km/h on the highway

I have been a member on this site before all of you and yes if you need my help I will be there. Some of you on here trash me for bashing GM BUT think its OK to bash every other vehicle manufacturer or guy that do not drive Cobalt's. Yes I do own a mustang and yes I would take it over my Cobalt any day but in no way did I ever say one was better than the other.

Who the hell do you think helped mark with the tuning. We took OUR cars and used them as guinea pigs before he even tuned any of you. yeah there are other members you could of gone to to tune your car but you didn't. You tell me I have a "I'm better than everyone attitude" but all you like to do I shove your opinions on everyone but as soon as someone stands up to your **** you cry foul. It really has nothing to do with who drives what car or who's car is better or faster, there all just cars. I am just sick of him and HIS attitude towards me and the fact that he feels he can come on here and slam anyone he likes without any consequence.

Personally I don't know which Mustang site you have seen them slam GM or cobalt's but I am a member of four and have not seen anyone slam anybody. Now it's not to say it doesn't happen but I have also seen it happen on this site as well. What you folks have to remember is is that they are just cars.

Yes the Coby is a quick 4cyl with the supercharger and can be very surprising to people, trust me I've seen it first hand when I raced a rumble bee on the queen E. As wee passed him he was like WTF!

Now comparing a Cobalt to a Mustang is like apples to oranges. From a dig I suspect I will have you for lunch because the Coby is hard to launch. Now from a 40 roll you would probably have me and the reason for that is : 1) Power to weight ratio. 2) when you are at 40 km/h roll you are in your power band in second with the SC wining up and I am not so you will have me until I hit the power band and shift into 3rd. Now on a mustang the 2nd to 3rd shift there is a lot of HP and torque and I will catch you but by the 3rd to 4th shift I will have you. maybe not hugely but I will have you. I have seen a stock mustang with only a CAI do 14.1 second pass and my stage 2 coby did a 14.1 at race city and a 13.9 at mission from the previous owner. So it would be hard to say who would do what.

It would be interesting to test out.

It would be interesting. Have you tried the launch feature on your TC yet? Also don't forget I am running a 91 race tune from Bama chips as well with torque management turned off and advanced timing. I am running somewhere about 310 RWHP on the 91 Octane tune. Buy summer I also plan on UDPs, X-pipe with High flow cats and delete plates plus a new tune from Matt at Techmotion. It would be nice to see what your stage 2 would do for the TC. Oh and I noticed you were going to do an exhaust delete. Be careful as it may hurt you in the end if you free up the back pressure. It may cause you to lose HP. I have seen this happen on the SC cars when guys go to a 3" piping with a cat delete. Not enough back pressure to sustain HP unles you are well over 300 HP. Just a thought.

Is race City going to be open next year? If not a ride up to Eddy may be in order.

Send Pickles a PM. He had 60's in his setup. Not sure where he got them from but I am sure he will be willing to give advice as to where you could purchase them from.

Me personally I would stick with the 42's unless Mark has the 60# pulse adder tables dialed in. I know we were having a hard time dialing in his car but he may have that figured out. We set my car up with the 42# adders and it was a whole new car.

There are a lot of good members here from Calgary. I am just tired of the drama that gets caused sometimes. And I will admit I am to blame for a lot of it this time, but I was just tired of sitting around saying nothing.

I know GM is not doing well as a corporation, but what does that have to do with this site honestly? This is about people who have bought the Cobalt because they obviously like it and want to meet other people who feel the same way. Yet there are people who are on this site that don't own the car anymore because of a bad experience and are more then intent to chime in when someone is having a problem and say **** about the car and/or GM. Either they have nothing else better to do with their time, or are really that pissed off that they have made it a life mission to make sure everyone else feels the same way.
