Thanks. Got a few things to do to it but she can beat a 2009 5.7 hemi truck as well as a 2006 5.9 Cummins. Not bad for a 20 yr old truck

nice trucks for sure
Try another dealer, that is bs. You've had the exact thing happen to you that is described in the recall. Even before the recall, my cat went on me, and it was replaced under warranty.

What dealer did you go to?

well seeing as mark is sharing his plans i might as well share my winter plans so i have a cobalt addiction shorty header which i am going to bolt up with a 2.5 catted dowmpipe from zzp, catback which still undecided on thinking of the ARK N2 but hey guys give me suggestions then getting a wideband and 2 other gauges but also not sure what ones to get then obviously a tripe gauge pillar and if money permits drive down to zzp at the start of the summer to supercharge the 2.4

this is all I can say! lol
those are nice trucks.

I love the fact that they're:
  • -2wd (for road use 4x4 is just extra weight/drivetrain loss)
  • -shortbox
  • -fleetside
  • -big block (iirc it was in fact the first, and only time since, that the big block was offered after having been dropped off the option list after 1971/1973 from regular half tons.)

the only problem;
in stock trim the 454 is grossly underwhelming in power...

big some time & money can fix that too

the finished product would likely look better if you did it by hand...

I don't know at this time how to best explain myself though...

Ya do it by hand, it'll take about 8 hours. When wet sanding use wd-40 as the lubricant, will come out real nice and go in the same direction don't cris-cross your sanding

I've never heard of using WD40 as the lube... hmm, learn something new every day...

@jrmotosports 88

I saw the most pimped out LSJ Cobalt on sunday night;
THIS guy's car is sweet - you really need to do the mods he's done - he trapped 103mph this past weekend at his "local" track!
(their local track is all the way in Gimli, and their version of secret street not only requires helmets, and costs $45!?!)

iirc he had:
  • cooling mod(?sorry drawing a blank, but he had a 2nd cooling reservoir for continuously bleeding the supercharger cooler)
  • OTTP stage 2 c/w 28mm pulley
  • methanol injection

he said that after his run, he could pop the hood, and his supercharger was cool to the touch...

I loved the way his methanol injection worked - seemed simple enough, and could probably be very well concealed...

I would think he also had upgraded mounts...
