Calgary - random talk thread
How is she running overall now? What's the afr up top? We should really hook up the hpt soon; I'm concerned about your ifr's with that 2.7 on there... Do you have a 10 gph nozzle for your meth kit?
What about Heart? You got some Heart?

Have you gotten that shift plus kit yet? It was puzzling me for a while there how a 2.2 could conceivably keep up to you, but forgetting that you were auto, that would do it.

no i have not gotten the shift plus yet but pretty much my most recent purchases are going to be downpipe, exhaust, wideband, shift plus and some other goodies lol and ya mark i would trade up my car but there is still more fun to be had with this and i see how you guys say it is pointless to build an na car but tell that to ZZP and see what their response is
man I was out...
the local McDonalds was closed for reno's - had to drive down to McLeod Tr for my last free fries of the week...
mmm... that makes five; two yesterday, and three today...
I'm normally up till at least 11pm... only rarely do I go to bed before that...
Kris;
please let me try t oclarify, I've NEVER said it was a waste to build up an n/a car - that would be very double standard for me to do...
since my GA, is n/a, and my '70 Firebird will always be n/a...
My only point all along was that if you could swing selling an SS/2.4 and buying an SS/SC(ect) for a minimal cost, the difference between building one or hte other would be slanted towards the higher level car;
eg:
on one hand you could spend $4k on a 2.4L car - and probably have a pretty sweet little fwd car
OR
sell 2.4L car, and are able to get an LSJ car for an extra $2k; spend $2k on the LSJ car and have a faster car - for the same $$$
(I'm just picking numbers, and trying to clearly prove a point).
Since I started playing with GM-FWD cars (late '00) I have seen many give up after trying to build up a car that was an uphill battle... I mean it's not like I have $3-4k lying around - so I wouldn't expect anyone else here to have it...
Hopefully that's clear.
I actually nearly found a shop tonight to do my GA's next engine... until he said he doesn't touch four bangers
Oh well... anyone have first hand experience with any good machine shops?
the last one I went to scoffed at me when I said I had titanium rods saying something to the effect of "they could try" to resize them (I am not 100% on if they're still true - but suspect them to be)

Just wait, I have spent alot of research today on that new kit. haha hence why if you follow my posting times it appears i have only been away from the computer for 12 hours in the last two days lol.
I believe you will all be very impressed with the hp outputs of the new zzp sc stage 2 kit, along with a couple of engine mods.

Sorry Graham - I have no idea where you live... otherwise I would have brought you some. Honestly.
BTW, how long has that location been 24hours?
didn't he ZZP stage 2 kit you're talking about just recently drop?
jon go to cetus up off barlow in the north or precision, down off blackfoot. i know the guys at both shops and used to work with the owner of precision. both shops do very reputable work
so mark not sure about a cook off lol but on another note i have an iron maiden bar stool i am trying to sell if you or anyone else would be interested shoot me a pm
as a side note on the 2.4 to sc conversation... i am sorry but honestly even if you put a sc on a 2.4, and matched up some what with engine mods with the difference in money... you still dont have the nice interior, suspension, wheels, and odds and ends... no matter what you say how you like to do the work yourself... i know for a fact you like to do the work on a sc, or tc yourself even more.... thats my 2 cents....

also kris its ok i was only kidding about that there will more then enough food anyway....
ok... it's friday morning...
half of the people from the design department took today off...
I'm sitting ere, kinda unmotivated to work...
and kinda just want ot go back home, and crawl in my bed...

...besides the fact that the service and the way they treat there customers is not the greatest ( definatly no lexus experience)
Graham, you really aught to find another service department.
if one dealer is giving you sub standard service go to another.
The reason why I won't go to **** is that the current service manager accused me of damaging my car (I had proof that something was not installed properly at the factory, and the old service manager was playing the office politics game by not booking me in, or giving clear instructions untill my parts arrived) - and initially refused to do anything about it;
I made a point about talking to the previous service manager before buying my car, and from an enthusiast/customer standpoint - he was an ideal guy to deal with - that guy told me which aftermarket parts I could install on my car and have no problem, and he would listen to me;
While talking with the service manager at Jack Carter I got the blanket statement to the effect of if I installed anything aftermarket, I would be voiding my warranty... period.
I initially had no plans of ever going to Jack Carter because of those talks with the service manager over a year ago - but early this year I brought my car to them regarding a fogged headlight (after the current SM at **** pissed me off) - that time and every time since then they have seemed to go above & beyond in the customer service end of things ~ but I might be getting treated nice because my car is totally unmodified, and obviously well maintained/clean (I would suspect if my car was modded I'd get terrible service from them too).
Why not try out Southgate, or CMP?
Stampeded is still around as a GM dealer (albeit used) last time I checked...
If one dealer doesn't give you the service you want, go to another one - and be sure to fill out your surveys and voice your complaints (**** to a degree bribes their customers into giving positive reviews - I know I took the bait the first time around).
you know, sitting and relaxing at work is nice - but it's always better at home
btw, I emailed your work-contact info to my brother yesterday (I kept forgetting to bring your card when I met up with him) - I told him to expect that you would give him options/opinions so that you two could take it from there.

moving this discussion over here...

whatever you do, do not go to cmp!!. I have had good luck with GSL, a few hiccups but over all they have done what i asked and replaced parts that should be covered under warranty that should be replaced. My car is off warranty now, well except for powertrain haha but i would never try and claim anything at this point on that.
Well mark for now you can go home when ever nick tells you, But if things go my way ( and Im not saying what it is, so please dont ether. Just dont want to jinx anything or saying thing till its real) you may be putting in a bit of extra hours soon, and have stage3 and tvs faster then you think.
