k guys need opinions i am going to be ordering something for my birthday seeing as its one week away what should i order i am decidig on
1) N1 exhaust
2) wideband
3) lightweight alternator and underdrive pulley
4) your opinons on something else

Thinking if you just got a dp.. why not finish it off with a full exhaust? lol I wanna see your car by the way, would like to hear what its like now

I think I've read hee about it, but it still sounds hair-brained - can you please explain to me "lightweight alternator"?
You do not need an underdrive pulley, all that would do is slow down your alternator ect...
What's an "N1" exhaust?
Why the need for a wideband?
Were I you, I'd get a new exhaust to compliment your shorty header & new headpipe;
your engine is like a vacuum, it needs to inhale & exhale air - anything done to improve both intake airflow, and exhaust airflow should net gains.
After exhaust, I'd save up money for putting boost on your engine (that's after all what you want to do right?)
ok, I mean you no offense...

Please someone correct me if i'm wrong on this, but the lightweight pulley would help by lighter weight which equals to less rotaional mass therefor reducing strain on the engine and helps the engine rev faster, also frees up a bit of power, here's a bt off the mrzperformance.com website,
"Help free up some HP, not mutch but it's there... the lighter the rotational mass is, the easier the engine will rev"
"This pulley is slighly smaller in diameter, so when you have our UDP, the alternator will spin at the right speed to provide enough current to the entire car. This will eliminate the problem many people have when stopping at a light and having a voltage drop."
In regards to the underdrive pulley id you buy as a pair they're made to equal out the voltage drop on the alternator.
Here's the underdrive pulley
5 ribs - Ecotec Underdrive Crank Pulley - 2.0LNF/2.2/2.4: by Make and Model - Chevrolet - Cobalt - NA Ecotec UDP - Car Performance Parts And Auto Accessories | MRZ Performance
Here's the lightweight pulley
5 ribs - Ecotec Lightweight Crank Pulley - 2.0LNF/2.2/2.4: by Make and Model - Chevrolet - Cobalt - 5 ribs Ecotec Lightweight Crank - Car Performance Parts And Auto Accessories | MRZ Performance
But yeah Kris, i'd buy full exhaust if you've already started at it, then probably go for boost and the MRZ pulleys for the whole set

you can test this to try to prove me wrong;
the rotational mass difference between a stock or lightweight crank pulley will not net a single hp difference.
as a matter of fact, most crank pulley's also have (from the factory) a dampening effect, and I have yet to see an aftermarket part that had any dampening effects ~ they have all been a solid one piece construction.
using different sized pulley's will be a good thing when running a supercharger - generally a larger crank pulley will speed up the supercharger (just like using a smaller blower pulley) - or visa versa.

Actually jon, the purpose of the light weight pulley's isn't to add HP but to free up lost HP by allowing the motor to rev faster. Same concept as a light weight flywheel. Does absolutely nothing to add rather gives back what was lost
how was everyones halloween?? Mine was off the wall... haha no alcohol for this guy for a little while! If i can figure out how to upload a pic, I'll try and load one of me and the gfs costume... I'd have to say it was the best costume I've had, and definately the best at the party..
If you re-read what you just typed, then following that logic, if the car was strapped to the dyno, makes a pull, then you change the pulley you should see a "gain" - but you won't.
Even a lightweight flywheel does nothing to "give back" - you see zero gain ~ but with a flywheel, your engine has (lets say) ten less pounds of reciprocating weight ~ something that will change how quickly the engine can rev up (or loose RPM's)...
I tried to make to point about the lack of dampening with the single pieces pully's - what I neglected to mention is of the problems associated which I have read from people putting items like these on...
it doesn't happen to everyone, but does that mean that you necessarily want to take chance?
ya so i am going to finish off the exhaust im going to get either the ark N1 or the ark grip exhaust and my need foor the wideband is so that i can get my car tuned and ya as steve has said about the pulley i have heard a few good things
we tested them both the other week and they worked - so we're going to have to figure out what happened since then...
Email me so we can figure it out.
is your car able to move under it's own power? ~ or is the clutch done?
I'm dropping family off @ the airport tomorrow night.
