i just did mine 1 week ago for same thing. Took me 2 hours ( tools dont fit down there very well)

I bought 3 roll pins from local parts store, cost me 0.75 cents to do myself and two hours of my time

Take it home and do it yourself.

All of you guys have to stop dragging your cars to the dealers as soon as they break, take it home and actually look at it for yourself. Will save you a ton of money. Research, grab a tool, and fix

I knew it needed a roll pin and I read that thread. But I thought something else was broken. I spent hours trying to figure out... I'm not the most car savvy but I'm learning. Either way I'll be putting one in myself cause he said the one I gave him won't last long.

It's not like I enjoy getting raped by this dealership or I'm too lazy to try fixing things myself, I'm working 12 hr night shifts right now and I need the car to drive 25 km to work so in the end I'm still ahead if someone can at least tell me what the **** is wrong with the car before I start screwing with it and I can't get to work at all.

i know its a pain man, but if you need a vehicle just grab a rental fo 30 bucks a day, they will rent you a base model. I just hate to see people get rapped by dealers, i may have come across a little blunt but i just hate seeing people charged +300 for diagnostic **** that dealers do. ( Which is little to none) My bad if i cmae across as an ass man- sorry.

Wish you were in Calgary so i could just give you the extra roll pin- Tell him just to install that one until you can get a good one ( From all the research ive done there is no good one) and if you put a bolt in you risk breaking the tranny ( Next weakest point)

Yeah, that shouldn't be a problem, I just have to dig them up. Larry gave me a bunch after he got rid of the Cobalt.

I've been considering changing mine just because, see if it will make the shifting smoother.

Thank god for tire repair technology. Put a screw right thru my tire and had just the head of the screw sticking out. Only cost like 26 bucks to repair. Soooo happy I don't need a new tire

Acey that's brutal. U have no luck with these cars.

Thanks. And wow... can't believe I drove the car like that for 2 weeks. The shifter no longer just magically floats out of 2nd and back into neutral like it's drunk. The problem wasn't me not having a roll pin, it's that I thought something more than just the roll pin was broken. Guy at NAPA gave me a free pin, but the tech said it won't hold for long. Loose bolts, dunno what that ****'s about but I'll tighten them; intake in question is the ZZP 3"

I am kinda glad somebody looked at it though and made me aware of those issues before they became a bigger deal, talked to the tech and he was a helpful guy.

Adrian, why didn't you text me man? I could have told you that in fifteen seconds...

Word about the intake, tell him to eat his own ass about "bad fitment" it fits fine, but it's 3" and its TIGHT.

Shifting hard or something? Broken roll pin def explains why you grinded on the way out from the last time you stopped by . It's usually caused by slamming the shifter around (not just beating it, just hard shifts). I very seldom missed a shift.

classic sign of inexperienced tire changer and faulty machinery and lack of knowledge on how to use the machine

I've never once bought tires from there and gotten two flats fixed.

In fact, the only reason I've ever gone there is to get flats fixed .
