I'll admit, im not the best person at launching. But at least i can say i race and can say i beat a car. Everything comes into play when its from a dig. Hell i even beat a 480whp mustang saleen because the guy missed 2nd gear.

On another note, just cleaned my car, still need to do the interior. I'll take some pictures in a little while. Thought it would be nice to have it nice and clean for the dealership. My baby is going in to get its first issues sorted out. Driver side speaker is crackling and my climate controls seem to be messing around every once in awhile.
well for some of us we're only interested in who's car is faster... because in the end... i could be a better driver one day than him and the next day have an off day and he'd win... then everyone assumes my cobaltss isn't that fast when it might very well be alot faster? it's all circumstantial... besides like i said... i don't race my car much and don't expect to be the better driver.. and i don't race taht often because i don't like to beat on my cars drivetrain either... hard launches while racing is hard on things... and since this is my summer DD i'd like to maintain the warranty and still be able to have fun with it. when my warranty is done and i have another vehicle to play with or have moeny saved up for repairs then i'll be a little harder on it. people complain about war stories... "there is no way your cobalt SS with just a tune beat a gallardo"... remember that one? obviously it's on video and it happened... doesn't mean his balt is faster than a lamborgini does it? when its' all said and done i can legitimately say my car is slower than his... because if it was a drivers race i'd say he'll beat me hands down since i've never drag raced my car and don't know how to launch it that great without the practice. and well most racing arguments start out with someone saying his car is faster than the other guys... not them saying they're a better driver. because i'll be the first to admit that i'm probably not the greatest driver out there and i sure as hell won't let that represent my cars abilities in a race and let people base an opinion of how fast a cobalt ss turbo stg1 is. i appreciate a really nice car with a shitty driver more than i appreciate a crappier car with a good driver. i'm a car enthusiast because i enjoy cars and their performance/abilities.. not their drivers abilities. just my .02

shitty about the squeeks :/ but i think they're inevitable in any car... they just don't build'm like they used to.. :/

well I bought sportlines from a member on the site, that was 5 weeks ago and no dice, no contact whatsoever. So i filled a claim with paypal, hoping to get my money back. I'll probably just go buy hid's for now, and save up for a gmpp catback in the early spring.

Woooooooowww..... You are still alive.... Your car hates you for abondoning us....ahahahaha

on a side note, it's good to see everyone has plans for their Balt.

My 3" stainless catback with res delete should be here next week hopefully. Finally got the intercooler situation sorted out. Just waiting for confirmation from synapse to send the Old one back. That's gonna be it for this winter, as my wallet hates me.

Gonna need some new tires in the spring. Anyone know where I can get a sweet deal on a set of tires? 225/40r18. Would like to go with 235/40r18 but where I'm lowered. I would rub. Anyone ever buy tires from dartmouth surplus?

I haven't bought tires from dartmouth surplus, but i have dealt with them before when i was having a problem with rims i had on my old car and they were very helpful, and went above and beyond to help me. Them or cheapy tire would probably be your best bet to find a great price on tires.

Why do you need new ones already? Or do you just want the upgrade?

As for me, i have my 3" CIA Catback w/ res delete sitting for me here in my room, and the other day i put in my order for the 3" CIA Catted DP to go with it. I think i have IC piping to be ready to ordered next, either injen, or again CIA..

Not sure where to go after that, if i get a good chunk of money back via taxes, that may have to be GMS1. If not, we'll see!

Well not much of an update but here we go
Changed my mind about paint, its staying Silver for now.
Motor is off being built.
and body kit should be going soon for paint.
today i received the other half of my tuning softwear

its from trifecta, the only company that cracked the 2007 cobalt 2.2 ecu other then LS2 edit.
this worked just like HP Tuners and hopefully really soon the car will be to JD for tuning!

well found out today the worse news of my life.
Found out today that my motor has .5 thousands of wear most times its .25 wear because of the extra .25 of wear my pistons i have will not work.
so i spent most of the morning calling Glubes Speed and Sound to see if we can extange them after i talked to wisco, wisco said normally its not an issue if they were never used so call the people you bought it from and see what they will do. well after not getting ahold of glubes i texted Steve the mechanic there. and said is it super busy today or what? he then informed me the worse news EVER! glubes went out of business!
now i have no one i trust to work on my car and no longer cheap parts from a local company.

Well not much to update on my progress. Me and florence brought the car into the dealership to get the climate controls and speakers checked out. Go figures they couldnt find any issues. The service tech manager gave me a few pointers though on how to set the nitrous up....he wanted me to know i have to spray it in both intakes instead of just one (i only have the one fogger in right now, still need to order the 2nd)

My place was to get pretty much everything hooked up tomorrow or the next few days. However i came down with a nasty virus and for the first time ever im actualy taking a few sick days off in the army...lol. So i dont think ill be making it to the garage anytime soon.

On another note, Stillen will be releasing the supercharger kit in March. If the power:cost ratio is good i might get the kit in the late summer or winter. Something interesting i came across is when still was doing the R&D for the 350z they used the Eaton M62 for their supercharger. Just had a modified air inlet.

wait... so the dealership knows you'll be using the bottle, and they don't care?

exactly...lol. This is what i been telling people all along. Aftermarket parts....even nitrous will not effect your warrenty unless they are the cause of the problem. They even wanna know what my ET's will be when i race with the bottle. Only concern they had was since i didnt have the kit fully hooked up it looked like i didnt have one clue what i was doing and i was only going to be spraying in the 1 intake....so 3 cylinders would get the power and the other 3 wouldnt. I explained to him why its like that and he said "ah cool, how much power are you expecting" and asked a bunch of questions. Then he gave me the bill for the work that was done and it was $0.00 cuz its coverd under warrenty.

I even told the dealership that i been talking to people from Stillen and they wanted some of my input on the tuning for those that will be running the supercharger kit + nitrous. Dealership thought it was cool and i should get a discount..lol.

Ok well the decision has been made. I am going to get the Hot Wheels body kit for the car. It comes with 8 pieces. Front bumper, Rear bumper, side skirts, wing, fenders and CF hood. Still working out a deal with the vendor for total price. Should be $3000 shipped, trying to figure out a different shipping company..they use UPS but they will probably charge me another $1000 for boarder fee's...anyways heres some pictures of the kit.

Front bumper:

Sideskirts and rear bumper:

Fender:

Hood:

Wing:

I'm still abit iffy on the front bumper but oh well. I talked to a guy that does body work/paint on the base, he will be doing the painting for a good price. Depending on how much he can get the paint for will determine if i go with just gloss black or black with red flakes in it. I'll be putting down the deposit on the kit on friday and then paying the rest off in the summer after i finish my courses. So what do you guys think?
