ive heard many differnt views on the top speed in 3rd. So what is it actually? STage 2 tune, whats the max speed in each gear?

Regarding the Ms3, I test drove one before I bought my SS/SC. It was a fine car.
But Mazda wasn't offering $2500 in rebates as was Chevy, plus the Mazda dealer was ripping me off on my trade as well (by several thousand dollars).
So all in all, I saved over $4000 on my SS/SC as compared to what I would have spent on an Ms3.
Yes, the Ms3 is a very nice performing car. But not enough for me to justify the extra $4k ...
i think you can do it man. What size radilas are you getting? From what i know about the cobalts you are already at the very end of you 3rd gear at around 107. I think you would benafit from 225 50 15s bfg drags. The smaller wheel will shorten your ratios and allow you to ride out 4th gear alot longer than stock size wheels. Good luck man

i dont understand how people are off by 10mph on where 3rd gear ends. i have peopel like you tellingme 118 i have others telling me 108, then some1 else tells me 112. wtf lol dont you all drive the same damn car? next time your being stupid and flooring your car, most likly by the end of this week, just wait till you hit fuel cut and note the speed lol.
As for the drop, right now its a lil lower than stock via photochop as my cobb springs are in the mail, im waiting for the ups man to ring my door bell.
Btw chevy guy, i got your pm about the track this thursday, but i just went last week so its pointless for me to drive that far again. however i was contacted by a cobalt ss owner that i met years ago and hes drying to get all his buddies to go to the track sometimes soon. mostly likly withing the next two weeks if i had to guess. i hope he makes it at atco as i hate etown. ill fill you in via pm if you want to join. he also drives a stage 2 with supporting mods.

i hate this hatch popularity thing lately.
one of the problems is we have multiple redlines, and multiple reading sources.
our speedo/tach are laggy, so may be giving you lower numbers
as well as the people with the 6500 redline.
people reading with HPTuners are likely giving the higher (and more accurate) numbers.
but its also easy to bump the redline to 7200, which alot of people do.
I will go dig in my logs right now and check for you.

hmmmm my apologies, i dont have any logs tapping out third gear....I dont like to do those kinds of crazy speeds on the street, so my only logs of it are from the track, where i am obviously usually letting off the gas before tapping out third.

it looks like a ghost or reflection of the cel. (its not there in person, just in the vid) i have an engine light because my cat clogged, then i hollowed it out, and haven't had time to get down to TTP and have it turned off.
Should be good times though. I have to avenge this kid from around here who raced a stock MSP3 at the track in his stockish cobalt and got raped. ***** on video too...It was a massacre..........

Mine just **** the bed hardcore the last 2 days, at the dealer right now. If they don't warranty it I want to hollow it out but I am unsure how to get the guts out with the bend in the d/p.

my zzp cat clogged 
i went in from the back end with a pipe. the bend was causing problems, so i had to chop it up (my exhaust is welded, not bolted in) and then smash the honeycomb with a small pipe. the next day i welded it back up.
