blown TL vs. 2.0
Sure
Sure, race him. Just know you will LOSE. And you will LOSE horirbly. Those cars put down 250 to the crank. At max, with drivetrain lose, at 15%, that would put it down to 213....with the Eaton M62, and if your friend knows how to drive, my money would be on the TL.
no joke. those acura TL are high 14 sec cars stock. however the drivetrain loss is going to be more than 15%. i am pretty sure those only came with automatics, but i could be wrong. i drove an automatic 3.2 TL stock and it walked an 02 mustang GT (not like thats hard
)
hmph :/
They weigh somewhere in the mid 3500's.. add your average joe and it's more like 3700 lbs. It's a vtec motor and don't count the win so easily since it's maybe 230whp-240whp on N/A after conversion, the power to weight ratio is not on it's side. If it's an automatic you have a better chance. I am assuming you don't know what kind of numbers it puts down with an M62. I am really uncertain why he put a M62 on it. That's kinda out of the range for Liter efficency for that type of supercharger (althought I see it can be placed on as high as a 4.0L, I won't).
A M90 would have been a better fit if it could fit on the supported application. Then his car would be bitchin. 5PSI on that M62 supercharger would put him in the 260-270 whp range.
Race and find out. Hopefully if his car is a stick he doesn't know how to drive it.

The car might not seem that fast because it is designed for you not to be able to tell inside. My sister just bought a 07 TL Type-S. With just I/E put down 280whp,293lb tq. That is NA. Make no mistake, you will lose and lose bad.
I found this dyno sheet 07 TL - TypeS, I'm not sure what hp/tq is in stock. I was told this one was quite heavily bolted..

It's an 05 TL 6-speed. He has the Comptec blower w/piggy back chip that comes with the kit. He has not tuned it right IMO because usually the chips in the kits are junk. Anyways, it's the same blower as 2.0 SS. I have GM stage II.
i have an o6 TL 6 speed, it has a intake,custom exhuast, intake manifold spacer and tb spacer and high flow cats, i ran a 13.7 1/4 mile and im soon to be super charged
