A 400 awhp STi will put at least 1.5 to 2 cars on a 300-310 whp Cobalt SS\SC or TC

With a professional driver, mid 13's yes... 98% of most of us are not pros so forget it....

They run 13.5-13.7 at only 100 mph in the 1\4. EVO and STI are only good for their launches.. I ran a stock STI (2006, the lighter faster model compared to todays heavy weight STI) with my SS\TC stock ( just a K&N drop-in)... He took me in first gear by half a car but by 95 mph I had that half car back and put a car on him... He ran 13.6's at 100 mph alll day at the track to my 13.9 at 102 mph the difference here was nearly a full car length >>(his front bumper in line with my rear bumper= 1 car length)...

This thread is horrible. Almost the entire thing is mad fail.

400AWHP EVO or STi>>>>>>Stock Blower SS/SC, I don't care what your mods are. On stock blower to keep up your **** is either about to blow up or it's built with a hell of a shot.

Some of you tossing around that you take rolls on modded STis need to consider the fact that you MAY just MAY have been racing a modded WRX and not an STi.

That's all I have to say, tone down the rice. You give some of us who know what our cars can and cannot do a bad name.

STi's, & EVO's arnt that spectacular for top speed. They have the launch, when you do not.

I doubt you pulled on a 400whp sti, but hey..crazier things have happened.

When you have 400 WHP in an sti...they have plenty of top end. Pretty much nobody on this forum is going to pull a 400 WHP STI...maybe only a couple guys...who make 400 themselves.

Coopn8r- lol. It is.... You should have been in it yesterday when we were chatting. It took forever to get from 0-65 on the highway. I need more power. I am swapping to a FP green or DOM III turbo sometime within this year.

Kyle - depends on what you consider fastest car you have been in. Is this a 9 second car or have you been in your normal 13 + sec cars???

I have a buddy with an 04 STi with a BLouch Dom 4 set up pushing 404AWHP. Keep in mind that where I live elevation takes a huge toll on 1/4 mile times. Stock SS/SC's run mid 15s. My buddy in the STi runs a 13.0. I will say though, of the 4 friends I have with the Suby's, the all wheel drive kills them in roll races. They are a lot less effective. So I believe ya that off a roll you aren't too far off.

No way a 240 whp cobalt or redline or what ever GM car it is , at 240 hp, is going to be able to stay even with a STI with 300 awhp ( no less a STI with 400awhp) despite the STI (2004-2008) weighing over 300 lbs more.... You'd need over 260 whp to run with a stock, well driven STI... Maybe you're confusing a re-badged WRX turbo with a STI??? I know way too many guys that have done a few mods and they rebadge their WRX's to look like STI's.. Also, the WRX is 100 lbs lighter then the STI and can be made to be pretty quick...

In fact, the new 2009 WRX with 265 hp and 150 lbs less weight is equal to the new 2009 305hp STI from 0-110 mph.... it's gearing and weight to pwr ratio...... The pre-2008 STI was 250 lbs lighter too...... The new STI and EVO are heavy and slow...... A stock SS\TC is faster in terms of spd and has a higher trap spd by 3-5 mph over a stock 2009 STI or Evo......

Based on magazine tests the new 2009 SS\TC sedan is faster then the SS\TC Coupe in 0-60 and 1\4 mi... : the sedan does 0-60 in 5.4 the Coupe : 5.8 the sedans trap spd in the 1\4: 104 mph....... the Coupe: 102 mph ... There's alot of 2009 model SS\TC running 253-258 whp on dyno's too, which is about 8-15 whp higher then 2008 model SS\TC's.....
