I'll give up a hint. You won't be happy with drag radials. The times still won't be what they could be and after a few passes you'll think "If I'm spending the money I should have just gotten slicks.".

That's the reason why I never bothered with buying a new set of 555r's. I could have been in the mid 11s this time last year but I couldn't justify spending money on drag radials.
well if I can just get my 60s down to around 2.0 id be content. my dad is buying my mustang so ill slowly be adding stage 3, cooling mods, etc to the car. plus a good tune as well. and for the most part ill only ever be at a 1/8th track. so the 60s are important to me. but again im still learning everything.

Two of these.
Wheel Details - Discount Tire Direct
Two of these.
M&H MHR-21 M&H Racemaster Drag Slicks
Boom good to go. Those slicks are only $24 more a piece than a Nitto 555r. They're the same price as any Hoosier QTP or MT ET Street, and both of those are too tall at 26".

No mater what you get there will be a $50-$75 difference in price range between the setups after two wheels and two tires. Might as well do it right the first time.
Next purchase of mine is going to be slicks depending on how late it is. No doubt about it. If it wasn't for me buying a trans I'd already have and be using them. I already had a set of DRs and they blew.

My Nitto's used to have tread on them. But in the passes it took me to get used to launching the car those burnouts took what tread was left. So my best 60' on them has only been a 2.05.

Big turbo car and different suspension setup is different than a car that comes into boost real quick. Ive seen a lot of guys throw a big turbo on a car (not ecotec specifically) and run slower times their first couple times out. Just takes time.
EXsoccer(or anybody that can help a new guy out), with that wheel and tire combo you posted, how should I launch to minimize the chances of breaking anything??
Im new in here and pretty much a noob when it comes to racing at a track so be easy on me fellas.
Thanks.

Check my one thread I created for the slicks. It has a link and everything for them.
