3rd, 5th gear goes into neutral on deceleration..

So this just started happening yesterday and I am thinking it is the linkage roll pin. When I was in 5th gear I decelerated and went to accelerate again at 55 mph and it just revved the engine. I noticed the shifter had slightly moved out of 5th gear into neutral and it only does it with 3rd and 5th. I also noticed when going into 1,3,5 it seems a like it is reaching out to get all the way in gear this is why I am thinking it could be the roll pin and hopefully not the internals. Thank you for any assistance.

This happens to me every once in a while. I always thought I didn't shift into gear properly.

more than likely the linkage itself, not the roll pin. probably just popped out of the connector on top of the transmission

So can I just push it back down or what do I have to do?
