I used fram in my cobalt for 60k miles then switched to Ac Delco because after every oil change (3000 miles) the fram filter would look like it was ran over and all crumbled up. I only use Ac delco in my HHR

Well nothing like that happened to my Mobile 1 Filter, I always assumed that if the oil company makes oil you should use their filter. Apparently not lol. Hopefully nothing happens with my Mobile 1 filter for 3000 miles.

Makes me wonder what my filter looks like when I was paying Jiffy Lube to do my changes.....

The Amsoil is MORE THAN WORTH IT!!!! I'm on 3,500 miles with the Amsoil filter. ****'s still clear as can be. I'm amazed. Filter is like $19??? I also use Amsoil 5k oil.

2 things.
1.If you use any quality company filter and INSTALL it CORRECTLY you'll be fine. Its just the effiecence of filtration that is different, oil analysis is required to determine that. The TSB deals with incorrectly installed or the incorrect filter, which I would expect it to cause failure since its not be used as indened.

2. Way to necro a thread
