Broken Axle! Fixable?

I noticed some wet spots under my car about a week or two ago. I manage to figure out it was coming from somewhere around the trans. I figured since I was about to put in a new clutch, might as well check it out then. So after I dropped the trans this is what I found. The wet spot was some of the grease leaking out of the joints in the axle. When I removed it from the trans, this is what I found.

This is the same thing that happened to my other stage 2 axle after I blew my engine a couple years ago at the track. I threw a stock one on that side, but now I'm not sure if I still have my other stock one.

I haven't driven the car in almost two years until this past month. I'm in the process of returning it to stock to sell it. It didn't leak before I put it away, and I haven't really ragged on the car since I got it all together again.

Either way, should I just order a new stock axle, or should I repair this one?

Thread moved.

Listen to MrB.

Axle replacement is cake, and much easier than trying to repair the axle its self.

This. The NAPA axle is also a little thicker than the stock SS/SC axle.

Also, the bellows in the axle boots are larger so less chance of them cracking/leaking.

Thanks. I ordered a new one a few hours ago, and they said they would have it in the morning. Time to change the trans fluid (since I still have the trans out. Damn rain stopped me the other day. Never had water rush into my garage before....), and finish up the clutch install.

Wayfarer, how did you go about getting them warrentied. I have another LSJ I could throw these on in the future.

not exactly sure. I bought them second hand, so when I discovered it was broken, I contacted the seller. He got the authorization, I just shipped it to them
