When doing the F40 swap using a regal trans, can the Saab 6 speed shifter that looks like the oem f35 shifter be used? Can I just use Saab base and cables and be fine?

I would like a stock appearing swap. The regal shift knob looks horribly out of place in a cobalt.

 

Should be using regal base and cables they are better

 

What makes them better?

 

I know the cables are the upgraded cables for Saab because the old ones the rubber would get soft so they made a flex at the mount on the transmission

So, the Buick cables work with the Saab shifter base?


Can the regal shifter use the Saab 6 speed knob?
i just really hate the way the regal shifter looks.

 

This is the one i got from zz0, doesnt belong in a cobalt lol (to nice looking) but i dont mind it

 

How does the shift knob attach? Could a better looking knob be used?

 

It's like a plastic clip on that's a nice shifter same one I got and its actually the buick shifter base and I'm unsure if I the Buick cables attach to Saab base but I would think they do
