just wondering a little, b.c today when i went to get that screw out of my tire, the guy stalled my car when backing it out of the spot to pull it in the garage i just kinda laughed cuz he was at least 35, but ive heard our cars are hard to drive, for someone not familar

I don't really consider it all that bad of a thing... it happens...

And the Cobat SS S/C has one of the best shifting transmissions I've ever experienced. Don't listen to those people, Car and Driver says we have a heavy clutch, what a bunch of babies.

I thought we had a fairly light clutch until I drove my friends TSX. Driving my car felt like a workout after, heavy clutch, long throws. The TSX transmission was AMAZING.

Unless of course it stalls due to a lack of fuel or something, then you're in for a bit of work replacing filter and cleaning out the injectors, and you're a woman

On a car with manual transmission, it'll happen from time to time.
Especially with someone that isn't familiar with the clutch in our cars (or any car for that matter).

When I got mine I had tested a honda yuck and a carolla, all of which were stick. I hadn't driven a stick for about two years, i stalled the honda, did well with the toyota, the smoked the hell out of the base cobalt tires. Much better for my driving style, so I bought it. :-) Had to go base though, worse yet, sedan. The wife was there. Something about price and getting the kids in and out of car seats.

Our clutch is heavier than my sisters 95 Eclipse GS. After I had my car for a couple of months I drove hers again and couldn't tell it my foot was on the pedal or not. I just put my foot down where I thought it was and started the car. Then I thought "did I push in the clutch?". I had, but I didn't feel it because I was so used to how heavy mine was.

As the other guys said, stalling itsn't really a big deal. Instead of cutting fuel and spark to shut the engine off, you're just forcing it to stop with the resistance from the weight of the car

As far as clutches go, I'd say the SS S/C's clutch is spot on in terms of feel and resistance. I personally can't stand clutches that are super light or have no feel (like our Civic), it makes it much less engaging performance wise and more difficult to drive smoothly. However, Honda is known for having great shifter assemblys, I won't deny that at all; they have some of the most accurate and smoothest in the industry. The best clutch I've experienced is probably the one in the C6 Corvette, its about as perfect as they get. Just the right amount of resistance, and the engagement point is right where it should be in the clutch travel - you can feel the engagement point even with the engine off.

I think the worst clutches are those found in some high-horsepower muscle/sports cars, like the 03-04 Mustang Cobras. They have some of the stiffest clutches around, its like driving a dump truck

Same here!!!! The only time I stall it now is occasionally when I'm starting on a hill and someone is a little too close for comfort behind me sometimes I'll think about it too much and stall it (I'm too proud to use the e-brake trick unless I know I can't get started without drifting into the person behind me.

I've noticed that in the SS S/C when starting it, you can just barely engauge the ignition and back off and it'll start. But after you stall, it takes like 5 seconds of cranking. Now when you're used to just turning the key for a split second, and it starts, you look like a fool at an intersection after it dies and you're trying to do the split second starting, lol.

alleycat, when someone is that close to you, rev to about 2000 and drop it.

Stalling your car doesnt do anything bad. All thats happening is the motor isnt producing enough power to turn the wheels.... Youll notice if you dont hit the gas and let out of the clutch slowly the engine rpms will drop... If you let out the clutch too fast without enough gas (increased rpm) the rpms drop too low and the engine stalls (engine cant run at 150rpm). I stall my SS all the time. Ask the AZ SS/SC guys

Yay I win most stalled SS by an experienced driver

I'll vouch for that. The tape might back it up as well.
