Does anyone know or have any instructions of a limited slip differential that can be swapped into a trans without it? This is for the F35. Thanks!

Also anyway of being able to tell if a trans has it or not by looking at the barcode of the transmission itself? It came off a 2007 lsj, but i dont know the vin of the car and i dont know where else i can look it up. Thanks guys!

 

mine didnt have 1 i bought a quaife and i had estimates of upwards of 1200 for instal of the stupid thing...zzp installed it for $400

 

geez im still just trying to figure out if the tranny i have now has a lsd or not

 

pull up the trunk carpet near the sub. look for the ID tag. see if it says G85. if not, no lsd. if so, lsd.

 

ya i know that but its not in the car i purchased the trans separately. i think it needs to say lsd on the black metal piece with the barcode?

 

I'm sure the part number on the trans would be able to tell you, but I know nothing.

 

Its very easy. Look in the hole where the axle goes . If you can see a shaft its non LSD. If you cant see through the axle hole and see the shaft its LSD. Heres a picture of the shaft in the non LSD

 

jack the front of the car up and spin the wheels by hand. If both spin in same direction then its lsd.

Is it a hard process to swap the LSD at all? Any specific things needing to be bought?

 

Also from anyones previous experience, at 550hp 500tq would an LSD even be helpful with traction? Thanks!

In a straight line lol I know it helps on corners and turns but Ive heard yay and nay about in straight line

how hard was it and did you need like a trans rebuild kit with new gaskets and what not?
