What will the drivability be like with a Stage 3 on a stock LNF? I want to get the clutch installed and broken in before I get tuned.

I can attest! Its not an on-off switch like you would think. Its very easy to modulate. When they did my clutch a few days ago the tech said the clutch that was in the car was brand new. It must have been swapped before I bought the car. It slipped during 3rd gear pulls with a 23.5 psi tune. This KY shows no sign of slipping at all. Its a great product. Well done Turbotech.

Funny enough, I came to the site today looking for answers. I wanted to go stage 2 KY, but was talked into stage 3, and pretty much hate it. Luckily I don't have to drive the car daily. Starts with the stock clutch were nice and smooth, maybe it's just me, but I can't get the feel of this clutch to do a smooth start. My starts are either shaky or a throw you in the seat launch. Pretty much the smoothest start will come if I play with the throttle while releasing the clutch. The leg pressure isn't much different from stock, but it's more of an off/on clutch (at least that's how it feels to me)

I had the car dynoed a few years ago (only doing a couple of small changes since) and it was 280hp/300tq to the wheels. The stock clutch slipped a small bit between 3-4k rpm after 35k miles (34k with this amount of power which I still drove another 4k before actually replacing) so I wanted to be proactive and replace the clutch. $1200 later (clutch price = install) it's my main dislike about the car.

Any stage 3 aftermarket clutch will act this way. You may just need to learn how to better use it. I and many others dont have rough starts, and I commute a good distance everyday I do agree, you cannot drive it like a stock clutch and expect the same results. Learning how to better release the clutch however will allow it to feel much more like stock.

I guess my point is, that unless you are going to go crazy with modifications to warrant the stage 3, you might want to stay with a stage two. Or at least find out if there is someone around you who has a stage 3 that will let you try it out before spending $1200 only to find out you don't really like it.
The guy was asking for opinions just like I was looking for when I purchased. Most everyone said 'they are great", I still ordered the stage 2 but there was a question on my order, and after talking with you guys , I said ok, and ordered a stage 3. Your service was great, I'm sure that the stage 3 would be great, if I was pushing close to 365tq (stage two rating) or over, but I have stage 3 (rated for 475tq) a bit overkill for my application with 300tq to the wheels. I was blinded with the more is better analogy, when I should have been listing to myself saying I'll never do that again (last on/off clutch I had).

I haven't installed my stage 3 clutch yet, but for another $50 I couldn't pass up even more holding power. I'm just a small build supercharged car, I'll NEVER build it enough to get close to maxing the stage 3 clutch out. One less thing I'll have to worry about with my drive train.

Clutch came in the mail today, looks like a solid piece.

However I'm not too happy that I got an LSJ tob with the green boot.
