Need some opinions

On the way home from work today I was in second gear and got on it only a little bit maybe 60 percent throttle. When I went to push the clutch pedal down it felt normal all the way down until about the last 5-10 percent of the push and it was very hard to push. Now the engagement point is all the way at the bottom and jerks cause it is like an on off shift without any play. I just parked it cause I have a new clutch on the way but it only got worse as I drove it. It is super hard to push the pedal down the last 10 percent. What does it sound like happened?
