OTTP Short Shifter 08-10 LNF

Alright so I recently purchased the Short shifter from OTTP

Completely happy with it, but I have adjusted it multiple times and it just does not seem right to me...

Its hard to get it into reverse and I already adjusted it more to the right so it sits more right.

I have already read about 5th and how its not the easiest gear to find but I'll get used to it.

Just wanted to know who else had this problem, I'm thinking about adjusting the cables so I don't even have to use the reverse lockout feature so my shifter, while in neutral, at least sits straight cause right now in neutral it sits more right.

What are your adjustment measurements, (from fourth) from the cable black cover to the clip?

Any feedback is great thanks all

TWM is no better with shifting into 5th.

My twm is perfect going into 5th. Reverse can be a process but you'll get used to it.

I go to 4th before reverse and it usually goes in without issue after that.

If you have the locknut for the shifter ball adjusted too low it won't let the shifter pull up high enough to get into reverse.

Pull what part exactly?

And if you tighten the lock screw to tight into the shaft there it too much drag and it makes it really hard to pull up to get into reverse.

Pulling up is no problem its getting the lip on the bottom over the lockout feature.. Like I really gotta pull it over to the right and then down, it rubs against the black case the part that sticks up. Literally use two hands to be safe

You have the shift ball and adjuster too far down. back them off a turn or 2.

finger tight bro.
just so that it is on there.
you should be able to just unscrew the knob and pull the adjustment screw back a turn or two then try it.
Should be able to do it in like 30 seconds.

Yeah I did that. Didn't do it. So I just adjusted the cables so now it sits in the right place when in neutral, but the lockout feature doesn't work I can just put it in gear.

The little metal tab of the sliding thing doesn't get over the raised black part, you know where the metal tab is supposed to slide behind and down. It makes the cage itself, not the black tab.

You need to post pics.
You may have the tang in there backwards.

I know the thread has been dead for a while, but I have the same issue with mine. Fully adjusted the shifter all the way to the right (as far as the left cable clamp would allow while still locking down) and the reverse tang barely makes it over the lockout. But with it adjusted like this, the shifter definitely has an angled 'lean' to it. Almost feels to me like the shifter is angled a few degrees towards the passenger side of the car, even out of gear. So assuming stock was [ | ] the OTTP almost feels like it sits [ / ]. Makes shifting feel odd since I have to put a slight lean to everything I do.

I followed the TWM install guide, but as you all know there isn't much to screw up other than having the tang face the driver side. My tang is definitely facing passenger. Also, after looking at some threads on here it seems like some pics of the OTTP show a curve in the shaft. I don't recall my shifter shaft being very curved, but I could be mistaken.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are that I received a flawed OTTP short shifter. The top nut or shoulder nut whatever it is wouldn't screw off by hand. So then i used a wrench on it and it got so tight that I had to use vice grips. Ended up snapping the middle screw and now I'm stuck with a short shifter I can't install. Messaged OTTP and they won't even send me the $30 worth of parts so I can somehow fix it...
