Replacement Transmission

Hello, I have recently managed to destroy my 2nd gear synchro and shift fork. Would it be cheaper to replace the broken parts and pay for labor to fix it and put it back together or would it be cheaper to buy a used tranny thats in good condition and have somebody put that in?
Thank you

I think I found a transmission with only 16k miles for $200, ill have to call. What do you think the cost of labor would be to put that in? Or would fixing the current transmission be the cheaper more effective route?

if that tranny is in working order for $200 bucks, you better run quick and get that. dropping the tranny and putting it back in is about 6-7 hours of work per GM i think. depending on labor rates in your area per hour is how much you will pay

most shops charge about $75 dollars down in south florida so your looking around $450 to $500 to put it in. check around at a couple of different places though cause you never know what someone might charge and you might get lucky. but those trannys are definitely cheaper than fixing your tranny now.
