Snapping noise

2006 cobalt ss supercharged..
the story goes if i dont rev match when downshifting, when it ingauges after it revs a loud snap with bellow from my car.. ive been able to re-create the noise otherwise with driving around 3-4 rpm then not fully depressing the clutch and releasing it again, after doing that ill hear about 4 quick snaps one after the other.. ive tried looking up this problem but the shop i work in is insanely busy so i dont have time to diagnose my own car.. UGH.. if anyone can help please do so

check your tranny for cracks or a loose mount

check all your mounts, also, check your cv joints, although that would be more of a crunching/grinding.

damn, mine didn't make a noise at all, just felt like the clutch went out, and then there was brake fluid everywhere!

Its a chavy, trannies on these cars are the biggest pos around. I think mines cracked or my main seal is going, got oil between the tranny and engine, and on the oil pan.

ive now checked my engine mounts and they seem to be fine.. now ive been thinking if its some loose bolts in the subframe or anywhere in the engine compartment, this noise is a horrid sound and im just dying to get rid of it...

if it has anything to do with the engine/tranny movement, try sitting still in neutral and have a friend or some1 quickly give the engine a quick 1/2 pedal down and release while parked, rev the sucker up and torque it up, moving the engine as much as u can while not moving... see if u can emulate it while you're outside the car. and tighten the bolts for your mounts and such too, yes.

dead zen, in those pics you have stock mounts... how did you crack the tranny where the front mount goes with stock mounts?? im kind of scared now!
