70,000+/- started giving a rattlish sound when shifting or letting off after a wind up. Haven't looked into it yet. Yeah, I'm mean to her, but she still loves me. :-)

you can take it and get it cryo treated from someplace.. that would help a bit..

there was also a company that was looking at building beefier trans for our cars

if its not every time and only sometimes its gonna be hard for the tech to duplicate the problem and u will prob have to go back. its hard being flat rate so techs wont put too much time into something cuz they wont get paid when its a warranty job. but id say bring it in any way maybe the will get it to happen and prob start w/ adjust ur linkage.

if it's only at high rpms then they're going to assume you beat on it.. and your tranny warranty goes byebye.. just tell them it grinds every so often under acceleration

Just came across this, BUT, i had a second gear grind going into second from 1st and 3rd at high rpms. They agreed to cover it under warranty but when they got it apart it was bad news for me. they found burn marks on the syncro and the gear was mashed to hell. They still covered it but told me I was shifting at a high rpm and slamming it into gear. Recently I haven't done anything like that. But, a year ago when I first got the car I was doing that stuff. I stopped after a month or two but it was still enough to screw up the tranny. If you are lucky like me they will cover it but warn you not to drive like that.

What I don't get, is why make a tranny red line that high when they aren't meant to be shifted at a high rpm... or amybe its just the speed shifting thats not good for them that caused mine to go bad. Cause there are guys shifting at high rpm's all the time and their tranny is fine.

To any and all of the guys with 3rd/4th gear prblems......the new blocker rings are now available and a permanent repair(as opposed to the previous short term) can now be made if youve got the grinding 3rd/4th

I had the new 3-4 synchro rings replaced in my '08 LT. No more problems with 3-4. Now 1-2 shifting is very stiff. The dealer is replacing the 1-2 shift fork, detent, and syncros. I should have it back tomorrow. This car has 9000 Km. on it. The dealer says $5800 + taxes to replace it with and indentical '09.
