I just like testing things and every high HP cobalt has mounts so i want to see if i really need them I'm gonna be taking my car to the track at the end of the month so lets see if the transmission holds up and if i get any wheel hop. I will be using DR's with low pressure so that should help.

Dam right, Get the good stuff.

loosen the bolts on the side engine mount before installing the mounts.
any hop you had should be eliminated.

this works.

I had a side engine mount years ago.
all it did for me was produce false knock.
might as well bolted a brick to my motor.
used it as a paper weight at occ shows and eventually sold it.

im stg two and vibes are minimal.
meh

Okay, I don't imagine ZZP giving instructions with their products, since they haven't with anything I've ordered from them, but when I get my ZZP mounts, do I have to losen other mounts first then install them then tighten the ZZP then tighten the rest?

The one thing im going to do different this time around is have a set of slicks running low pressure to help absorb the hop. and at the time i was running my potenza RE11's which is my road race tire and im not gonna lie they have re enforced sidewalls for cornering so im sure that didnt help matters. but that run was done prior to my stage two mounts. I was stoked and went back with meth, the mounts and a few minor things looking to obtain my goal of a 12 sec pass on street tires and stock blower, but actually hopped worse. Im really consistant running the 1320 and my 60's, maybe your mounts like a different approach as to where they like being launched at. I generally leave at 1800- 2000rpms and slip the clutch while feathering the gas for tracshuns. i duno. Like i said though on the street i had no hop at all. Maybe i should try them after i install my bags in the rear slicks and a few other tricks i have in mind to run a mid to low 12 on my new tvs setup
sounds like you got the time slips to back up your skill on the strip. launching at 1800/2000 makes sense... good luck rear bags will be a big help

Yea i was the only one iirc that was on the 2010 lsj and lnf throwdown list that made top ten on the stock m62 really wish i would have put slicks and a good suspension setup before the tvs but got a killer deal on it and couldnt pass it up. My slips are in a few threads floating around here and i believe on gmsc im still the fastest on the lsj stock m62 as well ( V8 2LATE on there) danew was with me and a bunh of locals when i ALMOST got a 12 on street tires. That was my goal but only got a few passes that day too.
