Water doesn't burn and make power make power either.. you can run straight water through the motor instead of gasoline ;-).. doesnt mean that just because it doesn't labor knock, that it's making power ..

you make it sound as if burning meth in addition to gasoline in and of itself adds power.

i'm saying you can convert a car to methanol.. and run it.. because its a burnable fuel... water is not a burnable fuel.. (for an internal combustion engine..lol).. just because water doesn't knock.. doesn't mean putting it in there is helping make power.. (if you ignore the cooling properties)

Anyone have a link to that aftermarket header thread that tested a few different headers on the dyno?

I just searched on css and rlf.... can't seem to find it

but thats the whole point. thats like saying you wont make more power on racing fuel if you ignore the octane properties....

The whole point of saying water has infinite octane, was to point out that it cools the charge?

I <3 the internet

no, the whole point of injecting water is to cool the charge/chamber allowing more timing. So saying "it doesnt help make power if you ignore its cooling properties" is like saying "gasoline doesnt make power if you ignore its combustion

I'm not arguing against water injection.. I've run methanol/water injection for 2 years... anything from straight water to 80/20 mixes.. I was going back to this discussion..

You coulda got the same amount of methanol with the 14gph set-up and a 70% mix.

I'm impressed that the engine is taking that much water!..lol

My iat2 is LOL @ 25 psi wtf... 127* by 6500 in 4th.... haha
And pointing out that the fact that water has infinite octane, does not mean that the more you pump in there, the better..

I am fully aware that water cools the charge and of the benefits that brings... I was just going back to the conversation about waters octane rating..

sub 120 iat2s in 3rd ladies n gentlemen... heat soak has left the building!

on a serious note tho

the whole reason I run a greater water mixture is because it allows me to advance spark as I please.
