Thinking about putting a car stereo into my girlfriends LS coupe. I read the FAQ on the website and it does say that replacing the stereo doesn't effect anything is this correct?

I am purchasing my radio from crutchfield and it keeps trying to tell me i need to buy an adapter for 119 in order to retain door chimes, and all the vehicle information.

Hopefully you guys can give me some better information on what exactly i will lose by installing a new head unit and getting rid of the factory one. Thanks alot in advance. Also this is my first post, and these forums are wonderful!

Yea i did. Guess that means no it wont effect anything... Thanks.

 

with out the right harness yes you will lose your door chimes, and all warning lights, and noises that your car makes when somethingis going on.

 

05-06 need:

Metra = 70-2103

 

You need the adapter.

 

yea i got an adapter and it didnt have a wire for power to the system. Sucked. U do need the adapter though
