CD stuck in player
My 2 yr old son managed to stick 2 CDs into the factory CD player in our 04 Venture. Now they are stuck in there and pushing the eject button does nothing... it doesn't even try to eject them (there's not even an 'eject' sound). Any ideas as to how to get them out? I tried to stick some long/thin pliers in there, but there are 2 vertical metal pieces in there preventing any manual removal. Please help!

go to best buy or a local car audio shop and get a new deck, if its for your venture dont go top of the line, just get something basic... 150$-200$ and get them to install it, run you about 300 tax inc.. for deck and install
or check out junkyards and buy a stock cd player for you venture and do it yourself in the driveway
100$ give or take...
a used stock deck would just be plug and go

Thanks guys. I would love to get a new head unit, but we have the DVD player which is controlled by the CD player, so I'm f-d there. I think my best bet is to go the junkyard/salvage route... just make sure the van had a DVD player too. I can't imagine a new unit from GM would be cheap!

this work for me twice on my cobalt factory radio, unplug the battery completely on the vehicle and let sit for 10 minutes, i guess that restart the radio and press eject and the cd may come out. good luck!

Cuz if you have to take the case off to get the CD out, then its going to have to be forced out, which means something is going to have to bend, warp, or just plain break in order to get the cd out. In which case the unit is never the same again.
I don't suggest taking the case off the unit unless you really know what your doing, there are a ton of tiny screws, some springs, that all have to go back exactly how they were. Therr also usually a bitch to get back in (springs).
OP- Don't feel that bad, all kids do this. Last month i went to move the 10" powered sub i have in my living room, so I could mop under it. As I moved it there was a rattling sound coming from inside it, and I could feel something moving around in there. So I took the sub out and low and behold what do i find, about a half a dozen toy cars, a few coins, one of my small screwdrivers, a folded up piece of cardboard, and the real kicker, the remote for my portable air conditioner, which I have been looking for since the summer.
My 3 year old claims he has no idea how they got there, then proceded to say that he thought maybe the cat had done it.

Whats he got to lose?If he has to buy a new cd player anyway, theres no harm in taking it apart.Op,if your lucky, the cd didnt fully engage,so if u take the top cover off,you may be able to just push the cd out with a screwdriver or something.
