6990 all the way. pioneer requires a traffic tuner for traffic monitoring on the gps, requires a tuner for HD radio (which is built in to the 6990), the kenwood has garmin gps which is > navteq gps imo, however the kenwood utilizes the navteq traffic updates...and this is where the pioneer gets **** on...the kenwood has 5 volt preouts with a built in cross over system while the pioneer has antiquated 2 volt preouts. most everything else is a apples to oranges comparison, but to me this is a nobrainer for the kenwood, especially since they finally updated their CPU and the GUI is smooth like it's supposed to be, as opposed to the previous 6980 generation which sucked because it was so laggy. Our shop carries both pioneer and kenwood so I get to play around with them quite a bit.
