My stock alternator is on the way out and I need a solution. I had it tested today, and if the guy is correct, something's up with the diodes. It's not charging properly when under load, but it's fine at engine idle.

(My current setup is: Stock alt, Kinteic 1800 and Big 3 running Audison Lrx 5.1k and Lrx 2.4)

***just to be honest... The final cable from the starter to the alternator has not been upgraded yet, as I ran out of time/connectors when I did the job. That alone may be the cause of my problem.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, especially any lead on a better alternator.
starter to the alt? do you mean alt to the fuse box?

Yes, but by way of the starter. That's how the factory wiring was done: Fuse box -> Starter -> Alternator. (Instead of a direct wire from the fuse box to the alternator.) I left all the factory wiring, and added my 0 guage.

I just finished it up today by adding 0 guage between the starter and alternator.

Thanks for replying. It's cool to know someone is taking time to think about what I wrote.

I plan to call Ohio Gen tomorrow.
