I have it ran in parallel. So its at 2 ohm. Like i have already said above.

 

not trying to thread jack but for some reason im having a hard time believeing u hit 148 with just 2 12" type r's...what kind of meter did u use?

 

back on top...if ur subs are gettin stinky u either have to let them break in or ur gains are set to high and ur clipping the **** out of ur sub...my best answer would be check ur gains with an o-scope if u have one with some test tones

 

im betting the gain is too high if its really a 6v hu then 1/2 gain is probably too high. i would at least turn off the bass eq

 

Db drags street b about 3 years ago in hamilton fool flagan bar I think it was called.. That was with stock battery hehe.. My buddies were judges my car had many hours on the mic.. Its all in the box believe it

 

If your head unit has a 6V sub pre, your gain should be pretty much all the way down with an Alpine amp. Even then, you may be clipping. I would get an Alpine head unit with a 4V sub pre or an amp that can take a 6V+ input signal.

 

Believe me i would love to get a new HU i hate this one.

That looks like a sealed box my R blew up in a half hour in the sealed box it didn't like it
