emperorjj1...after looking through some of your posts, it appears you are the man to ask about this. i want to replace all 7 of the stock speakers, but keep the stock head unit. i have ordered 2 sets of speakers: pioneer ts-a1702c 6.5 woofer and tweeter components with crossovers...50 watts rms max, and pioneer ts-a6992r 5 way 6x9s...80 watts rms max. i will use a pioneer gm-4300f amp...40x4 rms, to power these. 1 10" pioneer ts shallow subwoofer...250 watts rms max, i will use a pioneer gm-d8400m amp...300x1 rms max, to power this. i also ordered a jl audio cleansweep factory sound processor, which will supposedly clean up the factory head units output, so that my new amps have a perfectly clean signal to use. i would like to know if the speakers, including the sub, will bolt right into the factory locations without much trouble. i would also like to be able to turn down, or completely turn off the sub from inside the vehicle...probably using a volume control ran from the amp powering the sub...also where would you mount that volume control? do you think the amp i have ordered to power the sub will be too much, because pioneer also makes the gm-d7400m amp...200x1 rms max. and i would like your overall opinion...what types of problems will i run into trying to do this, and do you think it will sound alot better than stock as far as sound quality and bass?

i was thinking just turn the gain down a little on the 300 watt amp, instead of using the 200 watt amp at full power?

you would still have a possiblity of blowing your sub... but if emperorjj1 gets on here he could clarify a bit better for you...

I'm not 100% familiar with the clean sweep but this sounds like a heck of an install. Any idea who is doing it?

Speakers will bolt in no problem and i would recommend attaching the amps to the back of the rear seats. You are going to want to do an amp bypass at some point... which i explained for another memeber and is stickied on this section. Im going to assume the cleansweep is much like the 3sixty.2 unit that i have myself (360 was made after the clean sweep to be a competitive product) and has high level inputs. I would attempt to install it in the dash behind the HU and run RCAs to the amps from there. Also it has the option to add a remote so that might an option as far as sub control and like G5 stated you can always add the switch on the remote wire to manually turn off the amp/sub as long as you run seperate wires for the mids and sub amp

as long as it fits... if i remember correctly rage915 tried the shallow 10 and it was too "wide" for the stock box. he went with a kenwood shallow, looks clean
