LED interior light issues

Found a fix for this. Don't know if it has been documented as of yet.

The problems with 3 vehicles:

Cavalier & Cobalt - When I placed LED's into the map lights the bulbs would still light up just a little. I would say 5%. So I had to take one out and put in a regular bulb.

2004 GTO - When I placed the LED into the dome maps they work great as long as the door was open, RAPs on, the car was running or key was in acc. position. Once the RAP's when out the bulbs were dimly lit, like 5%.

The solution I tried was to order Can Bus LED and they worked. The balt has 2 in the map lights and they don't stay on. In the GTP all of the lights work perfectly now.

Has anyone tried the Can Bus for the turn signals to eliminate the hyper flash? I am going to order a set and try them.

can bus? not familiar with the term. most people sodder a small (like .5 volt or some ****) resistor to either end of the prongs on the bulbs to eliminate the 5% lit when off issue

Using resistors are much easier than a CAN-BUS system. Just make sure the resistor isnt sitting directly on plastic they get pretty damn hot

On the can bus ( error free) the resitor is built into the LED. As you can see it does not have the tine wires but a solid piece on the connection.

Put in the can bus turn signal bulbs and they work. No hyper-flash. Will be ordering a set for the front. Next I will try them in the GTP.

Have you heard of V-LEDs? (link right here>>>) High Performance LED Car Lighting, Light Bulbs, LED Headlights, Taillights, Turn Signals, and Brake Lights They aren't cheap, but they're worth it. The kind of stuff the OP is describing doesn't happen to their LEDs. You get what you pay for.

Or put in some V3 Triton switchbacks. Expensive, but you'll love them.

I've posted this link in other threads, but here's a little demo of them suckers. They're super bright even with blacked out housings in broad daylight...
