what series subs?
Actually it worked out well because thats really the flattest spot to mount them, plus since they swivel from left to right, i got them to point to the middle of my car, so you really hear the highs but can't tell thats its coming from the tweets.

the guy wrote me up what i'm getting on the back of a business card...
heres what it says:
(2) JL Audio 12 W Box $399.95
JL Audio A2150 Amp $219.95
Total: $775+Tax
Price includes installation and wires, everything. Is it a good price for these products? I'm not sure of the series of the subs.

Here is a litle update on my system... i got most of my rear deck finished! Type R 6x9's and a plexiglass amp/display rack, all on some custom molded fiberglass work!!! (and of course color matched speaker grills to the rest of the interior trim!)

hmm, thats a two channel amp, only putting out around 75 watts RMS per side at 2 ohms. so that probably means the 12W1v2 subs. but since they only go as low as 4 ohms, you're probably only giving them 45-50 watts. Good subs crave power, so i would try to go for a better amp, like the JL 300/2v2 (150 RMS per sub) if you want to make them pound a little more. Thats not a bad price either, most places charge about $65 and hour and subs can take a little while to install. If you really want a deal, ebay everything, or find it online. By just doing a quick search I found the A2150 amp brand new for $130 shipped, but then you have to do the install yourself.

i know it's not a full system yet and it's on my other thread but here's some updates on my FG build.
well i decided to get off my ass and get this project going. between yesterday and today my brother helped me and we mounted the rings, wrapped the box, and wet that bitch out. here's some pics:
hahah random pic, it's skittles.
here's a pic of one ring mounted
here's the box wrapped and then wet out with resin

Looks pretty good! I might have played with the ring angles a bit more, but it looks better than most "do it yourself" fiberglass projects I've seen. Props for going for it! Looks like a lot of work, but it should be worth it in the end!
