Weird sound from radio
Weird sound from radio
Hi, I'v had a Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD for 2-3 years now. I recently reajusted the equalizer and I noticed that when I raise the 2.5kHz, 8kHz and 10kHz frequencies, I get a weird "shhhhh" sound from the speakers... What's the cause? Bad ground? Thank you!
what do you mean? when you raise them does it happen just when ur adjusting the eq? or all the time? or just with the beat?
do you have the base or pioneer system? any other aftermarket parts?

It occurs when the 2.5kHz (or upper frequencies) are raised to 6dB or more. For now, it's on 4dB and the noise is almost imperceptible. And the sound is all the time, not just on beat. Also, I have a Pioneer HU (AVH-P4300DVD) and Pioneer 6"ž component speakers in front and 6"x9" rear speakers and a Bazooka subwoofer. No amplifier for speakers.
which harness are you using for the radio and do you have the base or pioneer system?
you probably should try the pioneer pico fuse fix of grounding the RCA's and see if it still does it

I don't remember the exact model number of the harness I use, but it's the one with the box that keeps factory chimes and other wonderful ***** of GM. I had the base system. And I've got no amp powering the speakers... Does hot swapping the RCAs of the sub can do the same problem?
