What sizew amp would be perfect for the factory sub

What sizew amp would be perfect for the factory sub

Hey guys well i sorta want more bass so i was just going to buy a converter and run it off of a speaker and run a amp to the factory sub but what do u guys think would be the best size we all know that the factory sub has its limits so what u guys think would be good like a 400 watt amp? i was just going to get a pretty cheap amp at wally world (wal mart) get a converter at best buy then install it!

Not to sound like a dick but your wasting you time hooking up a aftermarket amp to a stock sub. Usually the amp on them is pushing them into their "Premium sound" range, you put any more power to it gauranteed it will blow in a few days if not hours

^^^ have to agree there, if your gonna swap the amp then deff. swap the sub.

okay, the other issue is that sub boxes are made for a certain size sub, even more so in a factory setup. the stock sub is a pioneer DVC 10", so i wouldn't do anything crazy with it. i'm sure that you can find a nice little 10" sub at your local best buy or circuit city or online that will somewhat match the requirements of the stock size... then you need to find a nice sub amp to use (don't use a 2 to 1 amp for that)... but, the end result will be... it's louder, hits harder, and probably will be very un-even compared to the factory unit.

the only good reason to use an aftermarket amp with a stock sub is if you're adding that sub to a car that didn't already come with it.
