i got my car used with 30k miles. it was repossessed so i am assuming the first owner drove the hell out of it. when i first got it, the clutch was already slipping when id dump it. it lasted until about 70k.

then i got the ACT gm014 pressure plate with a street disc and flywheel. it was all sold together. the the disc actually still has some life left on it, but the pedal went limp all of a sudden. when we took out the clutch, the diaphram springs were bent.

the ACT clutch held great. i was pretty good with a clutch by this point, but i went wot everywhere. lol. it took alot more pressure to disengage it, but it always held well. im not even sure if it slipped when it went limp. i was just worried that the pedal went from tight to limper than the stock clutch

as stated previously, many have had good luck with the gmpp clutch.

OTTP had a $25 off thing going on for their Heat Exchanger, so I ordered it, less than $150 shipped.

I also did a little test situation with the flywheel/clutch/sprung hub and yes, I see what everyone was talking about with the bolts. Not sure what I'm going to do at this point, order OEM bolts or have them machined (which seems like it would weaken them).

I'm done, I'm done, I'm done.....no more mods! Last order placed!

Parts list thus far;
~ZZP Duel Pass IC Plate
~K&N Filter (stock airbox)
~GMS2 w/ 3.05" pulley
~SRS Cat Back
~Ingles Torque Dampener
(seeing 25.5 mpg average right now)

Yet to install;
~Pacesetter Header (ceramic coated by me!)
~ACT Lightweight Flywheel
~ACT Sprung 6 Puck
~Stock Pressure Plate

Parts just ordered;
~OTTP Heat Exchanger
~OTTP Stage 1 Rotated Trans Mount (solid)
~OTTP Pacesetter 2.5" down pipe w/ spun metal cat and angled O2 bung
~GMS2 2.9" 4 bolt hub pulley
~OTTP Throttle Body Spacer w/ 1/8" NPT tap (I'll do methanol when I do the 2.9" pulley)

I'm done! I quit! No more parts, I give up! My truck is almost done at the fab shop, then off to be rewired. I don't know what issues I'm going to end up having with that, so I need to stop on the Cobalt for now.

Holding off on the 2.9" and TB Spacer pulley until I get a methanol kit. I have a left over progressive methanol injection controller from the S10 project I'll use on the methanol kit. Nothing to fancy though.

Goal ~ 265whp/215wtq safe daily driver. Doesn't seem like much, but it's fine by me! With the truck project, I'm shooting for more than twice this at the wheel, so that's the play toy!

You say no more mods...i don't believe you!

265whp is a bit of a stretch, but it really depends on the tune and how aggressive you take it if you install the methanol kit. You will probably put down 230-245wtq.

He means torque. With a 2.9 and a good tune you will be in the 230-240 wtq range.

Yes and no. I need to buy HP Tuners Pro Suite for the S10, and I'll have 6 credits left over that I can use on the Cobalt, with 4 still left over.

So I'll kind of be buying that for both vehicles.

Question: Is it normal to see an increase in fuel mileage from a header/down pipe/exhaust combo? I went from an average of 26.7mpg and I'm now over 27mpg within a day, same style driving.

Might try and hit a dyno with the current mods. So that I can see what a GMS2 with full bolt ons alone is capable of.

Thanks, I'll try to get some better pictures up. Not looking to change the exterior look of it, I'd rather do all other modifications and leave the exterior stock. I just think it's more fun this way, no one expects anything. Their thoughts are "Some kid with a ricer, and a fart can, let's f*ck with him!" The best part is the reaction shortly thereafter! "I just lost? DAFUK Just Happened!"

Mods I've finally got installed:
~ZZP Duel Pass IC Plate
~K&N Filter (stock airbox)
~GMS2 w/ 3.05" pulley
~SRS Cat Back
~Ingles Torque Dampener
~Pacesetter Header (ceramic coated by me!)
~OTTP Pacesetter Header down pipe 2 1/2" w/ cat and angled O2 bung (you'll need to stretch your O2 wires to hook it up!)
~OTTP Heat Exchanger
~OTTP Stage 1 Rotated Trans Mount kit (solid bushing)

Waiting on:
~2.9" pulley
~Clutch Alignment tool

Parts waiting to install:
~ACT Lightweight Flywheel
~ACT Sprung 6 Puck
~Stock Pressure Plate
~OTTP Throttle Body Spacer w/ 1/8" NPT tap

Future Plans:
~Methanol (just a #1 nozzle with 50/50 mix)
~Limited Slip Trans
~Upgraded Axles
~Little more fuel/timing via HP Tuners

Parts on Order:
~HP Tuners Pro MPVI (for the Slowbalt and the Sturd)

Needless to say, the daily driver is much more fun now!

not a thing wrong with the stock intake. especially if you live in an area that rains and floods often

The cheap no name brand intake was causing me MAF issues when it rained, and Bank 0 - Rich conditions when I'd jump into it. So I went back to the stock intake with a K&N filter. Got the filter from Amazon for 36 with shipping. So far with all the bolt on's it seems to like it! I'm waiting on my 2.9" pulley and clutch alignment tool so I can get those done. I'll probably call OTTP here shortly later today.

Aside from this, I need to start worrying more about the S10 and getting it done.

Got my 2.9" pulley in, but with my modified GMS2 tune on the 3.05" pulley I'm going to need a new trans with LSD.

Does anyone know of some place in/around St Louis that deals w/ the F35 transmission? I can order a LSD for my F35, but I want it freshened up first. Any help would be nice! I preferably would like LSD before winter hits.

The M62 is getting a port job on the inlet, and the silencer holes welded shut. The needle bearings relubed, one step colder plugs, new fluid and back on for more abuse. 2.9" pulley, oversized tensioner pulley, 60# injectors and one step colder plugs.

I'm also ordering a FMSR F35 trans with 4.05 (same) gears and LSD for 2383. Not a bad price! I'm going to wait on the trans order until my truck's done. It get's a first start next week (hopefully)!

FMSR Stage 1, LSD, F35 trans - $2383
BPS (or other) short throw shifter - $160 (+)

Just some other pictures from the daily.

Ceramic coated the Pacesetter and had it baked. It's holding pretty well thus far. For under $200 it's not a bad buy at all (price including header/shipping/ceramic paint/paint stripper/other materials/baking process at local shop).

OTTP Down pipe, direct bolt in BUT you're going to have to mod your down stream O2 sensor.

The obvious is that he O2 sensor wiring isn't long enough to reach back this far. So I cut each wire and added some spare wire I had laying around along with shrink tubing to make sure it's a clean install.

Now I'm having other issues, I need to replace the thermostat and see if that's the issue. But I'm not seeing proper coolant temps in the winter months. I killed the fans and it's still running to cold. I'm seeing maybe 153 degree temps while driving to work. It might see 167 at a stop light if I'm sitting long enough. The outside temp this morning was 67 degree's. My check engine light is on for P0128 - Engine coolant temp below proper operating temperature or something along those lines.

Then I picked this up for $100 buck's locally. I'm going to ditch the pump for a better methanol style pump. But the tank sensor works fine, the control unit works fine, and the stainless hose is not bad at all either. For around $200 (new pump purchase) I'll have a methanol setup for the Slowbalt. 2.9" pulley, ported M62, and 60# injectors, 1 step colder plugs along with full bolt ons should be fun!

Also, side note. I raced a stock GN yesterday. I love me some Grand Nationls but sadly it didn't do so well. I spun, he was building boost (both had a shitty launch) but in the end I pulled away pretty bad as 2nd gear crept up there. By the end of 3rd I was at least 5-7 cars out front. Gave him a thumbs up for one clean ass GN! Wish I had one, it's sad that my 2007 SS/SC isn't worth as much as his mid 80's GN, sigh. : (

Lastly, my 3 year long save/build is almost done! I've had this thing down since August 12' and it's off for wiring this week. But here's my actual toy.

Finished up a few things and got it dropped off yesterday at the shop. Can't wait to see what this put's down on the dyno!
66mm T4 Borg Warner S300SX, 80# Injectors, Walbro 400LPH Pump, AIS Methanol using 1 nozzle for now + intercooler, with lots, lots more stuff. Can't wait for the fun to begin!

Hahaha, I'm actually looking at the TVS, but more so I might have something in the works that would benefit quite a few LSJ owners! A cheaper alternative, but like I said, it's in the works and I'm not sure how far it will go.

I forgot the methanol kit I picked up for $100 bucks, $10 in fittings, and a left over nozzle, and looking to upgrade the pump. So for a hair over $200 I'll have a methanol kit for the Cobalt.

Well, it was on the verge of a TVS, but never made it.

The Cobalt was traded off for something I hate dearly....a Ford. Currently I have a '13 Ford Focus ST and it is f*cking fun as all hell!

I will have a bit of items for sale here shortly!
