its a small turbo, should get me to over 300whp, which is fine for now. i will upgrade to a t3/t4 later on once i've done suspension work. and yes i can keep up with stock srt4's. its like dead even.

Only thing is that we don't know the actual model Borg turbocharger it is.

Ya, I called John to find out more about the turbo specs, but was only told that mine will be slightly bigger then what is advertised since it has taking so long to get mine. My compressor trim is .60 I think he said with .61 A/R ratio...

But that still doesn't tell us much about it...

If we knew the actual size, we could look up the compressor maps.

He said he had a compressor map but it was in a format that he could not open. Maybe Kevin can get it form him if he has been able to get it opened.

I paid a little over 3k for it.

oh well from what a know 57 and 60 trim turbos are plauged with problems...

thus the reason they are normally cheaper then smaller 50 trim turbos

also takes forever to spool

us srt-4 guys hate 60 trim turbos

Those are the Trims for the T3/T4s. That's totally different. Those turbocharger can support upwards of 400-500 HP.

Dude, im fully spooled at 2300 rpms, is that crappy? i think not. They matched the turbo for the specific application. He put a lot of thought into what type of turbo to use with the 2.2.

NJHK. I know the site says Borg Warner, but mine is definitely not a Borg. I had my turbo in my hand before they ever installed it and i also had a borg warner in my hand. The Borgs say Borg Warner on it. Mine has some other lettering. They both look about the same size, but im sure that has little to do with how much power it will produce.

Im building the internals this next week then running 15psi. If i can get the parts in early in the week, they should be installed by next sunday.

Make sure to take lots of pics of your build!

What all are you going to do? Are you doing it or having a shop do it?

They do use a lot of Mitsu turbos on the Hyundai kits - that's probably it. The Garrett going on my car is, I believe, a first for the Alpine Ecotec application.

dang the BW i cannot find any maps on there site i do kind of remember the part number if i can see the map i can guestimate the right one but all in all John had the knowelege to fit the right turbo for the right setup for the right power gains...we all knwo it makes no sense to run a huge turbo on a motor for one cant spool it and to cant handle the power...so knowing john he has done the home work on his kit for the cobalts...just cause he does not put up the actual part number of the turbo does not mean its not a great kit! there is allot of times people buy cars w/turbos and dont know the specs of the turbo that it is on all they know is it makes this much hp at this much rpm

if Sw4y1313 is running evo's and SRT-4s on a stock 2.2L then its good enough for me well it does not help i drove sw4y's cobalt and i was very impressed!

so 2 thumbs up on Alpine's kit

also LewiSS will tell you John knows his stuff about turbos and right from wrong...he has been in the game longer then half you guys have been on this earth...and thats no joke!
