2.2 turbo finished
Dude, im fully spooled at 2300 rpms, is that crappy? i think not. They matched the turbo for the specific application. He put a lot of thought into what type of turbo to use with the 2.2.
NJHK. I know the site says Borg Warner, but mine is definitely not a Borg. I had my turbo in my hand before they ever installed it and i also had a borg warner in my hand. The Borgs say Borg Warner on it. Mine has some other lettering. They both look about the same size, but im sure that has little to do with how much power it will produce.
Im building the internals this next week then running 15psi. If i can get the parts in early in the week, they should be installed by next sunday.

lol sw4y you don't have a 60 trim turbo.. lol a 60 trim wouldn't fit inbetweeen the firewall
spoolup at 2300rpm to me is saying that you have a 14g or lower...the turbo will prolly max out around 300whp if that. the stock srt-4 turbo is bigger and will only provide around 300-320 whp unless ported or clipped ..i would highly reccomend porting the manifold and the turbo..that will result in a faster spool and more peak hp
and i highly doubt you hung with a evo..if you can hang with stock srt-4s how can you hang with a evo a stock evo would rape a stock srt-4
and whats with the vids you said
no offense but im with the others that said it doesnt look like the speedos moving to quickly

did you watch the vid of me against my friends 2.2 with bolt ons? i destroyed him. that video you saw from denver was also on my pocketpc, it is laggy, so its not showing real time properly. the real vids are on my friends camera, he is still looking for the cable, but procrastinating, and so have i. i really want to get my build done and get vids of that to have all done in one video.
From a 30mph, i stuck to his front doors. he pulled but ever-so-slightly. The 2 guys in the car were looking at me with their mouths wide open when they saw i was still next to them. im not lying dude, i would have had proof if i wasnt alone that night. dont worry ill get that all on tape once i get back out there. my buddy will come with his good camera again this weekend if im tuned by then =P I may just wait till my internals are done tho.
300whp is fine for me. i believe i could get a little more outta that with some cams too, which is fine.
The SRT's i roll with are 380whp and 400whp. Both of them are in the 120mph club and daily drivers. The one i raced was stock tho, i wont race them until i get my engine finished and cams done to see how i keep up. Its all in good fun =P
yea anythings possible
don't get your hopes up though... the more boost you push through that small turbo the less efficent it becomes
id say you will need around 20 psi to make 300
im guessing this is your first turbo car since you have neither a wideband or a boost guage
how do you even know how much boost your running

Yeah, im not going to get my hopes up, i didnt when i first went to pickup my car, thinkin i was only getting like 190whp, and they told me 212.
I wonder if i could hit 20psi on my turbo...
whats your a/f should be mid 10s to high 11s dont go any higher then that and work mostly on making everything more efficent before adding cams and stuff
the less hard your engine has to work to make the same hp will pay off in the long run
plus getting a diff exhaust shouldnt effect how much boost your running
also the car shouldnt bog any where under no circumstances i mean honestly 220 whp for a 2.2 with a turbo like that is kinda low i was hoping more for like 240 at least
get the tuning gremlins fixed also make sure you have no boost leaks IE use T clamps everywhere zip tie vacumm lines all that stuff will help the turbo run more efficent and make more power and less heat
it seems like your kinda new to turbos and i dont want you to blow your engine
im not hating on your or trying to argue or put your setup down at all man

I understand its all good, i know its all advice, and i really appreciate it all. i am new, but am learning very quickly. I have been trying to be real careful so i dont blow anything. If i ran 240whp, thats pushing my stock pistons to the limit. We all wanted to be safe on it. I am doing it in stages. next stage is internals and getting it running properly like that at 15psi. then im going to replace the stock injectors with 60lb'ers and run them off the smt-6, along with that i will be converting to a return-fuel system. after that will be Turbo cams.
Hopefully by that time SCT will have their crack for our ECU and i can remove my governor and up my rev-limiter to 7k.
In about 30 mins, im taking my lunch break to play around with the tuning software. i was told my manifold should be in later today, so ill be tuning tonight.
yea bro safe is the way to go even if it means being slower than you'd like for awhile
i mean ive got a turbo in my trunk that will net me around 380 400 whp on a pump gas tune but i cant install it because i dont have a tuner its a pain in the ass let me tell you

His turbo setup is pretty efficient and running 10s or even 11s is too much.
I agree with the T-Clamps.
Also mark, read this:

That will explain Trims.

Well, my intake manifold wont be here for 2 weeks, so kevin is over-nighting me his plastic manifold he has so i have something to drive while i wait. We are also waiting on one more thing, cuz it may be the greatest f'in thing alive... I guarantee you guys have not seen this done before, but im not gonna say until we are sure on this. Gotta wait till the 19th. So if anything, im gonna have forged internals on my 2.2, but something greater might happen, but cost the same if not cheaper.
oh yea good sir deff look into meth injection
i mean **** ill be happy if you crack 290-300 even if its not a srt-4
300 WHP FTMFW
also 300whp means get ready to play with the big boys
need a liscense that says v8eatr or something to that effect
lolz

Speed Mafia(Kevin) and I were thinking "Shotime" or something else, i forget lol. kevin will probably chime in and remind me. =P
with new clutch!if we go my route ...plates on his car will be NoMercy or ShoTime...
we are looking wheel hp right around 400+ on that small of a car will be quite a setup and rpm range 7500-8500rpm shifting points! for under $2500$
but thats if things roll my way on the 19th of this month!
That is awesome! good luck with it all. Keep us up to date.
If you go to Kev place Sw4y1313, to have the work done, which I would suspect, let me know when and I would love to head up there with you as well.
We could meet in Logan or Bear lake area or somewhere in that area. That should be a sweet little road trip!

gonna need a bigger turbo though guys to push 400
also look into porting that saab mani before you put it on and the head when you rebuild it for 7500-8500 rpms ( is there a reason you are wanting to rev that high)

Well if we go the way i would like to see the car it should be running with C6 Z06 Vettes...and this is no joke! worse cause we go forged in the 2.2L and up the boost
