It appears GM has run out of oversized injectors now...
BTW... Our Yellow Stage 2 SS appears to be sold!!! We still have 1 of every color on the lot and an Upgrade Kit on the shelf! Come see me...

hey guys i know this thread is old now, but i am finally going to get the stage 2. My dealer is telling me that they don't sell the stage 2. I need to buy stage 1 which is the injectors and stage 2 which is the pully. i think they are ripping me off big time because it is quoted at 1100. plus installation 112 and hour. Can anyone telling me if they have heard of this, or should i try a different dealer?
Dont get your stage two in Canada
I looked at prices in Canada and the dealers are charging about 1200.00 Can. plus 400.00 for instalation. but since i have some friends in Houston i got the stage two for 620.00 U.S. Can't wait to try it out
This is somewhat off topic. But i just recently bought a cobalt... What type of kit would you all recommend for best results? I was looking at the Stage two pulley kit you all keep talking about, but what is this "ZZP 3.0" you all are talking about? also are these mods covered by manufacturers warranty?
Do I get a discount??

The only problem is no one knows the cost to install this kit and what is involed in it. I had to install one and our labor rate was 2hours above what warranty is to replace all the items in the stage2 kit that was at 7hours. This is the complete install with full factory warranty. The parts run approx. $750 and labor of $595.00. this of course is if the gaskets do not need replacing which can happen. If anyone in the SAN DIEGO area needs this done bring your car to City Chevrolet once we getr the parts it takes one day to get done. Once this is done you will love the power it gives

my dealership here in NC has been shopping for a stage 2 kit for me. their price was 650 if they could get one. they said the only other kit they have found so far was in PA and they wanted to charge like 900 for it. I said they can keep it.
I officialy got the last Stage 2 kit yesterday(6/14/06) at a dealer in Cuero tx i had had it on order for 3months it arrived and there was a note in side that the parts lady showed me that said it was the last one. its getting put on tomarrow (6/16/06) in whimer tx becouse no one will touch it around here it sucks i have to drive 2 hours to get it put on and that my local dealers wont do it but on the bright side i got it
It may be the last one in stock...but I seriously doubt it's the last one they'll make...especially not if GM wants to stay in a tuner market.
Mine's on backorder at the moment, but expected to be in within 3 weeks (dealer quote). Fortunately for me, the local dealer here WILL install. The stage II will cost me about $640 plus another $200-250 for the labor.
I'm hoping this will do something to clear that dead zone between 1st and 2nd.
So far I've installed K & N's Typhoon intake (noticeable snap increase from the line and better pick up overall) and today I just installed Ingall's ED.
I've only had her for about two weeks now, and I must admit, I'm surprised that GM actually made this car. Her lines are nice, a great functional interior and pretty good performance from a 4-banger. I just want more power out of her.
The exhaust upgrade is a definite must...we can do all we want to the front, but without a decent exhaust, we're just bogging her down. Hopefully as the popularity increases, we'll have better aftermarket upgrades available.

Just got off the phone with my local dealership, $500 for stage 1 + $192 for install.... $692 for stage 1?!
If I buy the kit else where and have a GM dealership install it, is it still covered under warranty?
UPDATE!!! Another dealer in my area just told me they would sell the stage 1 kit to me for $425 + they said it would only take about an hour to install??? At $62.50 per hour of labor!!! $525 with tax, out the door!!
