That is possible but from what i have seen its the reflash. GM has found a way to make sure, since they're warrentying everything, that the kit only makes 250hp. If you look at every dyno for stage it's around 250 hp. Therefore ppl with stock SS's are getting the best deal and ppl that have modded their SS are getting shafted. The reflash is whats contrlling everything. This is also why its possible for GM to make Stage 3 because they can throw in a clutch and a new reflash with a 2.8 pulley and bam pushin 280-300 hp. Thats the dream anyways.

You CAN go straight to stage two as it includes all the parts from stage one.

It appears GM has run out of oversized injectors now...

BTW... Our Yellow Stage 2 SS appears to be sold!!! We still have 1 of every color on the lot and an Upgrade Kit on the shelf! Come see me...

hey guys i know this thread is old now, but i am finally going to get the stage 2. My dealer is telling me that they don't sell the stage 2. I need to buy stage 1 which is the injectors and stage 2 which is the pully. i think they are ripping me off big time because it is quoted at 1100. plus installation 112 and hour. Can anyone telling me if they have heard of this, or should i try a different dealer?

Dont get your stage two in Canada

I looked at prices in Canada and the dealers are charging about 1200.00 Can. plus 400.00 for instalation. but since i have some friends in Houston i got the stage two for 620.00 U.S. Can't wait to try it out

This is somewhat off topic. But i just recently bought a cobalt... What type of kit would you all recommend for best results? I was looking at the Stage two pulley kit you all keep talking about, but what is this "ZZP 3.0" you all are talking about? also are these mods covered by manufacturers warranty?

GM performance parts book has the Stage II kit rated at 245hp, not 236. Just an observation.

Do I get a discount??

The parts run approx. $750 and labor of $595.00. this of course is if the gaskets do not need replacing which can happen. If anyone in the SAN DIEGO area needs this done bring your car to City Chevrolet once we getr the parts it takes one day to get done. Once this is done you will love the power it gives
Hey I bought mine SS/SC from your dealership do I get a discount!!! What are you doing pricewise for just the stage I kit and install??

I'm not sure if it's out yet but the GM stage 3+ kits will not be for street use. that doesn't mean you wont be able to buy them but i'm not entirely sure of the legality since i know i read somwhere "not for street use"

my dealership here in NC has been shopping for a stage 2 kit for me. their price was 650 if they could get one. they said the only other kit they have found so far was in PA and they wanted to charge like 900 for it. I said they can keep it.

It may be the last one in stock...but I seriously doubt it's the last one they'll make...especially not if GM wants to stay in a tuner market.

Mine's on backorder at the moment, but expected to be in within 3 weeks (dealer quote). Fortunately for me, the local dealer here WILL install. The stage II will cost me about $640 plus another $200-250 for the labor.

I'm hoping this will do something to clear that dead zone between 1st and 2nd.

So far I've installed K & N's Typhoon intake (noticeable snap increase from the line and better pick up overall) and today I just installed Ingall's ED.

I've only had her for about two weeks now, and I must admit, I'm surprised that GM actually made this car. Her lines are nice, a great functional interior and pretty good performance from a 4-banger. I just want more power out of her.

The exhaust upgrade is a definite must...we can do all we want to the front, but without a decent exhaust, we're just bogging her down. Hopefully as the popularity increases, we'll have better aftermarket upgrades available.

If you order the kits from your GM Dealer and they install them...will it void your warranty?

No...the GM Stage kits, when installed by the dealership, are fully covered by your warranty. If you purchase them and either install them yourself or have another shop install them, any damage that can be attributed to the install would NOT be covered though.

Just got off the phone with my local dealership, $500 for stage 1 + $192 for install.... $692 for stage 1?!

If I buy the kit else where and have a GM dealership install it, is it still covered under warranty?

UPDATE!!! Another dealer in my area just told me they would sell the stage 1 kit to me for $425 + they said it would only take about an hour to install??? At $62.50 per hour of labor!!! $525 with tax, out the door!!
