200,000 mile cobalt....
Congrats on all the good luck. I have a question, you said you changed your fuel filter at 30, latest 40k. My question is did you see any signs of what would lead you to believe it was the fuel filter? I have 40.8k on my car and i dont think the dealership did any maintenance to it what so ever. My car has been acting up lately with not starting and random cutouts of power while under throttle. Im curious if this may be due to the fuel filter..my guess is yes, like to hear your opinion though considering you've got 3x's the mileage

i dont think anyone has as many miles on their 05 as me. Im a courier so I drive 300-500 a day on a normal day! still running good other than the stalling and rough idling after filling up my tank with gas
ive been doing all highway pretty much since i bought my car and i do oil changes and tire rotations at the same time every 7500 miles and its still running strong. first year i owned the car i only drove 13k. then i got a job pretty far away and now drive 120 or so miles a day. dont waste money doing oil changes at 5k. the amount of miles you drive thatll add up. im at 135k now. but im also moving soon and cutting my dail drive in half so im going from nearly 26k a year back down to a reasonable 15k. as long as i dont take too many trips, which i now plan on doing.
i do wonder how many of the high mileage balts live in texas. so damn far to get anywhere. not like in new england where most everything is within 300 miles. hell i can barely make it to the ocean in 300 miles. i still have my factory clutch and brakes. you driving to waco every day??? or temple. depending on how you drive either could be 2 hours of san antonio. suprising they make you use your own car and not one of those ******* wagon vans.

I'd say not many have more miles on their modded cobalt. I'm always trying to find ways to reduce my mileage. I'm sitting at 47,750 miles on my 05.
Hey Miked, congrats!!!!
You mentioned trying to run regular fuel in your engine for cost saving. I think you can get a tune from Vince at Trifecta to do this. Could save you a lot of money at the pump.
As far as changing your maintence around, don't. Follow the factory maintenance to the letter. Miricle in a can and synthetic oils won't benifit your style of driving. Check your cam chain tensioners for excess wear. You will probably get over 400,000 with that kind of driving.
Good Luck,
Dimitri

93k. 06 ss/na. everything stock. i have a feeling the clutch is starting to go... or i just need to get my tranny fluid changed.
apparently it has been kept up with maintenance, but my cousin (previous owner) treated it like **** so idk. since ive had it (last 11k) ive been wine and dining this car.
in my mind i have a feeling the car will easily last to 150k+ (another 4-5 years) but because i do have 90k+ i dont wanna turn around now and get any engine mods, i feel like intake/exhaust or even zzp turbo would be a waste of money cause the resale value was offered $4000 from dealership at 83k last january (2009). no point in dropping $1000-4000 in mods now, amiright?
