i had the same issue with the rough idle and stall when i got my 06 SS/SC. easy fix. use some lucas oil injection cleaner, and get a big bottle of throttle body cleaner, tear the throttle body off and use about half the can cleaning it. after i did that. my car ran perfect. let me know if that works for ya

i sub'd to this just because i think this is awesome! lmfao

heres an insightful question for all you mathematically-inclined people!

Is miked... in fact spending MORE money running on 87 octane as opposed to 91?
The car is tuned for 91, and will therefor do more miles on 91 octane.
So is he in fact saving money or losing money? How many more miles can be done with 91 octane?

Good job on ur miles btw! LSJ engine = reliable engine

It just goes to show that if you take care of your car more often than not it will take care of you.

As far as changing your maintence around, don't. Follow the factory maintenance to the letter. Miricle in a can and synthetic oils won't benifit your style of driving. Check your cam chain tensioners for excess wear. You will probably get over 400,000 with that kind of driving.

Good Luck,
Dimitri
I DO put mid-grade in often now. its 89 octane. I dont run my car hard. If i put in mid-grade, I will slowly accelerate and drive softly. I dont see it causing in knock or less HP

tried it all, never helps. even took it to a shop and tore apart TB and cleaned it...nothing helped.

i dont run on 87. I do put it in once in a while. Now, I have pretty much disgarded it and starting throwing in 89 octane every now and then. With 89, im not noticing any power difference or MPG changes. In TEXAS, there is no 91 octance. the next up is 93 octane...and it doesnt make my car very much better than 89, as youd think it should. FYI needs a tune BAD

no sounds at 181k. i do have quite a bit of road noise from tires and a little loose feeling in the road...something similar to a windy day. could be my wheel bearing going out but they arent making any sounds

I heard somewhere that a car company bought a vehicle back to tear it apart since it went so many miles. I don't remember the details just remember hearing something about it.

honestly...thats what im looking for. maybe, them to take it back and say "here's a new car". Ive heard that happening too but dont recall where. afterall, if I continue to put miles on it like this, in a year or so, I will have 300,000. cant say GM wont be impressed then!

If i drove that much there is no way i would have aftermarket exhaust. The drone of my car annoys me.

Good stuff. I'm sure you said it before but what tune are you currently running? Custom?
