Calling all paint guru's..

I just went and picked up some caliper paint, and also some gloss, and a self etch primer.. I couldnt find a primer that was for high temps, so I just went with the most expensive one hoping it was the best quality.. Now my question is- will a primer crack and peel like a paint would with high temps? Should I just skip priming it and just make sure the surface is cleaned very well before I paint it?

Thanks!

Yea I was leaning towards not using it.. I painted them a few years back with the Duplicolor Caliper kit, but got lazy and only really put on 1 coat.. they look like **** now, cause half of it has flaked off. Im hoping if i put on a few more coats this time and clean them really well, they should hold up a little longer..
