I never said I was the ****. Cobras ARE a lot faster than GT's stock for stock. Hell, when I just had my magnaflow, me and my friend, who has a stage 2 2.8", full bolt on SS, were dead even from a 40 mph roll ( which is the cobalts sweet spot). I know for a FACT that a GT with just an exhaust would get crushed. I test drove one, they are slow as sh%t without mods. I remember thinking to myself "thats it?" when I took it out for a spin.

It has a lower rev limit, and doesnt have as much HP or TQ. How is it even close to a cobra?

Wait... why is it surprising that out of 2 cars in the same price class (GT and SS/SC), the one with MANY more mods (Stage 2 and full bolt ons vs. Exhaust) will be faster?

Nonono. Yellow seems to think that my car is slow and GT's are almost comparable. Im just pointing out that theyre not even close is all.

He thinks: SVT is not that fast compared to a GT. I was just saying that a GT with just an exhaust WILL NOT hang with a stage 2 2.8" SS.

Maybe if the driver in the GT is superior and we're talking 1/4-mile the GT and modded SS/SC would be close (plenty of S2's are still in the 14's), but yeah, from a 40 roll I would expect the S2 SS/SC to be faster.

Yea. Too many ppl have no suspension mods and all power adders. Having an extra 45 horse without tranny mounts, engine mounts, torque dampener, etc doesnt exactly help putting power to the ground.

Do you not realize I have a GT500? I know how to drive its just that with what I was planning on doing with my car I knew an auto would be more reliable and consistent at the track. What do you know about well driven, you’ve never even been to the track? I hate to break it to you I’ve drove faster manual cars and ran faster times than your little Cobra could dream of.

Yes you got me, I couldn’t afford a Cobra. That’s why I within a year I had full exhaust, gears, blower, and IC on the car. The reason I didn’t get a 03/04 was because I couldn’t find any in the color I wanted and for a reasonable price. Plus a GT is lighter and has a solid axle both of which I wanted.

I like how you know so much about building a fast car when you have hardly anything done to your car. If you would look at the boards my car runs right with some of the faster street driven Cobras. A 10sec DD car is fast plain and simple, yes there are some in the low 10s high 9s but reliability becomes a huge factor. Honestly I could throw a shot of nitrous and go faster but I’m actually pretty happy with where I’m at.

What I want to know is since you think I should have bought a 03/04 Cobra is why didn’t you. Hell you can pick them up for low 20ks now.

The Gt will get crushed. I know how fast they were compared to my SS/SC, and I can tell you I would put AT LEAST a bus length on them in my SS. The cobra is a little stonger in the top end than my SC, so the GT would get beaten even more so.

The GT is a DOG from a roll and on the highway. It wouldnt even come close to keeping up with me, so I dont know where u get this info from.

And how is a auto more reliable at the track? Unless you suck at driving, you should be able to net similar times with a stick, and better times than an auto. Unless you have a turbo setup, how is that auto better?

You have no right to lecture me on the track when ur TRACK CAR IS AN AUTO. Give me a break. You know who else drives auto mustangs? Women. Especially mustang GT's. Thats all you see is older women, and old people driving those.

And BTW, I got the 01 Cobra for the same reason you did. 16,000 + 6000 ( SC kit ) = a cobra much faster than a stock 03-04 which costs ( 22-23k ). Obviously if I can afford a SS/SC for 24k, I can afford to get an 03-04 cobra.

That suspension comment was in regards to the SS/SC

At the end of the day I really don’t give a **** what you would do to a stock GT since my car isn’t stock.

Once again it goes to show your inexperience at the track and to show you’ve never drove a fast car. I would put money down that your Cobra is the fastest thing you have ever drove. Its damn near impossible to beat an auto at the track when you’re dealing with cars that are 11sec or faster. A human can’t shift as fast as an auto and most can’t out launch a stalled auto at least not consistently. Yea a bone stock auto vs. a bone stock 5spd the 5spd should win, but my car is far from stock. I guess if you weren’t on the internet all the time looking at what OTHER PEOPLE have ran in a car like yours you would to have time to go to the track and actually learn something. Look at what almost every drag car runs you’ll be shocked to find out they use a “*****“ automatic.

LOL You car has a weak rearend, its transmission is semi-weak, its a vert, and it has a weak bottom end good for 450rwhp. A cobra can do that with a $1000 worth of mods and not even be breaking a sweat AND it’ll still have a built motor, a better transmission and have a better rearend than you! Plus you paid 16k for that car, you got SCREWED!!! LOL I actually feel bad for you. I guess you should have talked to someone that knows what the hell they are doing or you should have looked it up on the INTERNET.

FYI: I bought my 04 in July of 05 with less than 8k miles on it for under 17k. LOL

For drag racing an auto is better due to fast shift times. For going around a track, the stick is better because you can get in to the proper gear for whatever turn of the track.

Lolz. You talk like the GT you bought is superior to a cobra. As if your rear end is SOO MUCH BETTER. LOLZ. And talk about getting screwed 17k for that POS GT. Holy crap, we had a GT out here ( which is the one I test drove ) vert for 18k. It was an 04, and it had about 16k mi.

If you payed 17k for a coupe, then it would have costed you at least 19-20k for a vert. WOW.

You know what most dealers are selling 99-01 SVT verts for right now? About 19k +. Thats with 50k+ miles on them. Higher resale on the cobras, sorry to break that to ya.

And yea, I bet those 9 sec cars are running autos ( lolz what a joke ). As I said MR "driver skill", you lost all rights to tell me I cant drive when you have an auto. Youre auto tranny is training wheels for people who cant drive their car.

You are a fookl for trying to lecture me on driving skill when ur car takes ABSOLUTELY no skill to drive with that auto in there. Cant handle 11's in a stick? Pro drivers dont need training wheel auto trannys to launch their cars.

Why dont you spend more time tuning your auto tranny so you can shift better , instead of trying to lecture somone who actually has a transmission that requires SKILL to launch.

And if its SOO hard to get 11's with a stick, how come some of the fastest cars on the market run awsome times with stick? Z06 is good for mid 11's with a STICK tranny. Viper same thing, Ford GT same thing, etc. If the AUTO was soo much better dont u think that all FAST cars would be auto instead?

Ok. What ever make you feel better. Honestly is that the only thing you have to bring up?

Lests see you have a slower car than me, you internet race, you know nothing about the car you drive, you got screwed BIG TIME on the car, you've never been to the track, I can go on forever.

I drive and automatic but went 10.85@128mph so I don't know anything abou racing. Gotcha

I guess 14s is hard for you to run since you've never even been to the track.
