Ok, I want to buy a Corsa Exhaust System, and Im going to have the dealer install it for me. Should this in any way shape or form, void my warrenty at all? Because if it does, its not worth it to me, for now.

Adding a cat back doesn't really do much that can hurt a car. Your warrenty isn't voided just by adding on parts. If anything goes wrong because of what you added, then your in trouble, but adding a cat back won't void anything. Well, if you break your cat back you'll have to replace that yourself, but thats about it.

 

the only way it will void your warranty is if they can prove it caused damage to any other components. that is how it works with any aftermarket parts. however, do yourself a huge favor and do not have the dealership install it. take it to a regular shop and save yourself alot of money. too many people make the mistake of assuming that just bc the dealer installs a part for them their warranty is safe. meanwhile youre paying 50% more than you have to.

Thats pointless, the only thing that replacing the stock catback is voiding is the coverage of the stock catback. In other words your new catback will not be covered under warranty.

 

Oh right maybe not the new one. Unless you get a GM product.

 

is corsca not working together with gm to release aftermarket upgrades such as the exhaust?

i am pretty sure they are so i dont see the problem

 

Even then the exhaust wouldnt be covered under the car's warranty. It would most likely have a limited warranty like most parts do just against defects in construction or if it fails under normal use.

 

i thought corsa was working on a system for gm to sell.....is that the one he is talking about or what...if it is then it wont because gm sells it...

 

Just because GM sells a product, that doesnt mean that the product will be covered under the car's warranty. The car's warranty will still be good (the part doesnt void any warranty) but that new part will not be grandfathered into the car's bumper to bumper warranty.

For instance think of it this way. You buy a new computer and it has a 1 year warranty. Well if you replace parts on that then, even if they are made by that company, they wont be covered under that original 1 year warranty because they are not original equipment. (I know this is a horrible example but its the best I could think of this early)

 

Hey, do you think the dealer would install my header and intake? They'd probably charge an arm in the leg though. I might have the dealer install my stuff from now on so if something went wrong, do you think they would fix it for free since they would be the ones to install it? (not like replace the part but fix it so that it runs good)

Yes I think they would install it.

Yeah you would pay a whole lot more than if you went to an exhaust shop for the header install. For the intake I would just install it yourself. They are not that hard to do.

The only way they would fix anything for free was if the part was installed wrong and that was the reason for something going wrong.
